MLehde:
The Polish Catholics who have remained faithful to the Church and the Archbishop have been relocated to another church in the Archdiocese. Not every original St. Stan’s parishioner agreed with the Board of Directors.

You are correct, but did you realize that the percentage of parishoners who didn’t agree with the board of directors and chose to side with the archbishop and leave was all of four percent? I concede that superior numbers do not automatically bestow truth or correctness but when the breakdown is 96 to 4 one should consider that the question might bear a closer look.
No, I didn’t realize the percentage was so small. If that’s true, I have even more respect for those who chose to remain Catholic.

I believe the 4% number is found on the saveststan’s website.

It is a little funny given the recent talks between the Polish National Catholic Church and the Roman Catholic Church (going so far as to state that the PNCC has apostolic succession) that if the PNCC would rejoin the RCC, they would likely be given something similar to what St. Stan’s has recently had taken away from them.

On the bishops “Q&A” website the site talks about the Polish Catholic parish applying for a liquor license and the pastor (along with the 4%) not being too enthusiastic about that. Shouldn’t the bishop have know that a teetotaller priest wouldn’t fly in a Polish parish? Try to take away my pivo and you’ll have a mighty fight on your hands.

Besides, electing a priest or even a bishop is not grounds for excommunication and has historical precedent such as St. Ambrose who was elected bishop before even being baptized newadvent.org/cathen/01383c.htm

And the parish didn’t elect a priest but voted whether the parish should seek to hire a priest given the fact that their priest was removed from the parish by ArchBishop Burke.
