I’m starting RCIA next week and I am so excited! I am nervous though as I’m going in as a former Baptist/Assemblies of God turned Agnostic. I’m kind of afraid that I’ll be all prideful and think I know everything (which I don’t). I want these stereotypes and fallacies that I’ve been raised with to be blown away and for my parents who are Assemblies of God to see that you can be Catholic and it’s the same exact thing as being a Christian. They’ve been raised prejudiced and to some extent raised me the same way…until I studied the Church. I’m also hoping to meet some new friends and real down to earth people…it would be wonderful if I could meet some fellow nerds but just some friends would be great. Of course, I tend to be the type that never met a stranger soooo…I guess I just don’t want to go into this amazing experience and journey with a “know it all” attitude. I’m even a Bible college drop out…didn’t last three months…Just thought I’d share.

Congratulations, I hope RCIA helps you on your journey. I will add you to my prayer intentions.🙂

God bless you on your journey.

I completed RCIA last year, took me more than once for family reasons.

I will pray for you.

I am excited for you too! May our Lord be with you on your journey!

I am always happy to hear someone is serious about joining the Church. I will pray for you on your journey.

Congratulations and good luck on your journey. I’ll be starting RCIA soon too with a similar background (non-denominational Christian turned agnostic). Looking forward to the journey.

Congratulations!!! Hopefully it will go well and help you come home 🙂

Add another “me too” to the list. I just signed up today and will be starting next week! 😃

RCIA here is starting in September. My mother and I are attending together. Both of us have been interested in converting for years, but finally got up the courage to ask this Summer.

We have been working with a sister at our parish church and have attended Mass several times. It was wonderful – I look forward to every Sunday now.

Keep us in your prayers – we’ve had a very eventful search for our baptismal records…

Congratsies! Glad to see another one coming home. So excited for you!

Is that a TARDIS avatar!?!? 😃

Best of luck! I’m about to start RCIA again. (Third time’s a charm?)

. . . I’m kind of afraid that I’ll be all prideful and think I know everything (which I don’t). . . Of course, I tend to be the type that never met a stranger soooo…I guess I just don’t want to go into this amazing experience and journey with a “know it all” attitude. . …
Being an opinionated know-it-all, I must admit that I went into RCIA last Fall with a bit of attitude, thinking that except for that which is exclusively “catholic” they really weren’t going to teach me anything new. Oh boy, was I ever wrong!! Every week I so looked forward to our classes. Even the one where NFP was discussed (not details or “how to” just general health info., etc) because I was 62 years old LOL.

Congrats on beginning your beautiful journey HOME!
