I’m starting RCIA next week and I am so excited! I am nervous though as I’m going in as a former Baptist/Assemblies of God turned Agnostic. I’m kind of afraid that I’ll be all prideful and think I know everything (which I don’t). I want these stereotypes and fallacies that I’ve been raised with to be blown away and for my parents who are Assemblies of God to see that you can be Catholic and it’s the same exact thing as being a Christian. They’ve been raised prejudiced and to some extent raised me the same way…until I studied the Church. I’m also hoping to meet some new friends and real down to earth people…it would be wonderful if I could meet some fellow nerds but just some friends would be great. Of course, I tend to be the type that never met a stranger soooo…I guess I just don’t want to go into this amazing experience and journey with a “know it all” attitude. I’m even a Bible college drop out…didn’t last three months…Just thought I’d share.
