I hope the statistics on vocation in diocese with obedient/orthodox bishops are true. However, they might be misleading.
If I, for example, would have discerned a call to priesthood, I would have first moved to a diocese with a bishop I trusted to run a healthy seminary. Ain’t no way I would have gone to the seminary under the jurisdiction of archbishop Rembert Weakland of Milwaukee, which was my nominal home when I finished college. Had I made that choice, I probably would have gone somewhere like Nebraska and pumped up their numbers.
Does that make sense?
