The welfare state replaced fathers with Uncle Sam …it supports the breakdown of the nuclear family. This has impacts in many areas … education, lack of self esteem [especially among males] and role models, lack of employment, addiction, crime, incarceration … and generation after generation the problems get worse and worse …
We are 50 years in - funding program after program [failing] and this government solution after another. Drugs are worse, babies have fewer and fewer two parent homes [with a mother and father] … school fund increases, class sizes shrink and fewer children can read at grade level and fewer and fewer graduate and many that do are uneducated. In NYC - the college has to teach incoming college students basic reading and math skills.
