Statue of Jesus Offers Hope by Surviving Typhoon in Philippines Unscathed

Nearly everything around it, and in its region, was destroyed by the monster typhoon, but a large statue of Jesus on Calvary Hill overlooking the town remains. It is said to be a symbol of hope for the people around it. Most people in the Philippines are Catholics.
