Steve Camp is a Christian singer who most of you have likely never heard of. He is very Reformed in his theology. He also has a blog, and recently he insulted Pope Benedict XVI by doctoring some pictures to mock him, to go along with his essay. Check this link out and then leave a comment. This is pathetic.

Mr. Camp’s juvenile crudity only displays how shallow his own brand of Christianity is.

Responding to it is like spray-painting a complaint about graffitti on a public wall.

I know, sometimes the best response is none at all. I just couldn’t believe how crass he got. This is the theological equivalent of a junior high student drawing a beard and eyepatch on the president’s picture in a history book.

Yeah, it’s pretty low. I guess he’s just pandering to his audience, which seems to be about as childish as he is.

It just occurred to me that doctoring photographs might be a form of bearing false witness. Hmmm…

Yes, people like this need prayers for mercy more than anything else. Posting on their board will just get them more and more riled up.
 
“Blessed are you when the mock you and persecute you and utter every kind of slander against you because of Me”

I would say our Pope has recieved many blessings. That is not to say I think people should be persecuted.

Kinldy ask the man to stop with the pictures and the insulting remanrks. That’s about all you can do.
 
This is just proof of their real lack of understanding. 😦

(ok, I’m a little more forgiving than most - can’t help it! 😃 )
 
Have you no faith in God’s own retribution?

Steve Camp will reap what he has sown. We do not need to be concerned about the timing, just know it will come to pass.

Until then, we are called to pray for him so that sooner than later he will see the errors of his ways and have a change of heart.

Asking them would only encourage them more. Best is just to ignore the people out there like this.

No no… it’s fine. We just cannot leave up a link with a call to arms like this as it’s considered a call to board swarm the other guys, which we know from experience is a real drag. Any one who wants to look into this can easily find Camp’s stuff through search engines and they can PM or e-mail y2daddy to get more info and the link.

This is not a rules violation per se, since this is more like a discipline (policy) that we have here at CAF as opposed to a dogma (rule).

Have fun people! And God bless Pope Benedict XVI!

I just googled the Steve Camp blog. Way to go, Thess. Keep it up. You’re giving them a run for their money. I’d like to encourage others to jump on the blog, but only to see how frustrating it can be for those non-Catholics visiting this forum who are met with similar sarcasm and ignorance at the hands of Catholics! This is a good reminder to keep our discourse with seekers civil, charitable and loving.

Also check out the protestants who were also offended by the mocked up photos of our Pope.

Camp’s hateful “art”, and speech don’t even rise to the level of junior highschool tomfoolery.
If he is really that fervent in his belief in the Lord Jesus, he should have better things to do with his time & money than to attack other Christians.
I truly fear for his spiritual state, and that of several of those who responded, while being heartened to hear that there were indeed protestants, as well as Catholics, calling him out on this kind of trash talk.
 
I’m there as well, as Apolonio. Might last a few days until we get kicked off the blog. I’m waiting for their photoshopped pictures of Eastern Orthodox patriarchs who also “condemn the true gospel.” 😃

What’s wrong with mocking the Pope ? Everyone else in public life is mocked, and has been for a long time - why exempt him ? Mockery of some sorts at least is perfectly compatible with respect for the man and the office. (To portray the Pope as the devil, as a playing-card did in 1501, is another matter.) Not taking him too seriously all the time is also a good way of letting off steam harmlessly​

 
I just checked out that website.:hmmm: You guys are doing a great job. You certainly have your work cut out for you. I will pray for those people over there as they seem really brainwashed and so ill informed. I pray that they will come to know the truth of the Catholic Church. Especially Steve Camp. He is particularly in Satan’s grasp.:bigyikes: :banghead: :whacky:
