I checked the marriage FAQ and it looks like if my wife and I are both non-Catholics, we have a valid natural marriage that will become a sacramental marriage when I complete RCIA (which won’t begin until the fall). That’s what I seemed to find out.
However, I spoke with a local priest (who says he has a PhD in Theology) and he told me that even if I complete RCIA, my marriage to a non-Catholic would not be recognized by the Catholic Church, which doesn’t sound good. Is this priest wrong (hopefully)?
