Think of God’s law as a progression, bringing us closer to him.

At first, when someone did you wrong, such as killed a relative, you would ride into their village and kill them all. Total slaughter. No one left.

The Law came, and it said to take an “eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth.” This was moderating what the people HAD been doing. It was better. It said make the punishment proportional to the offense.

Then, Jesus came. He told the jews that they had been living under “an eye for an eye”, but that they should not even do that, now. They should turn the other cheek.

So, we don’t stone people who commit adultery. We forgive them, as Jesus did, and pray for their salvation. Yes, the marriage may be in shambles, but the punishment is not death.

Hello all,

stoning…or killing somebody by tossing rocks at his or her head and body till there is no more movement…this was I guess, a cheap; way to get out of society a worthless and dangerous individual…it seems mostly a child molestor or prostitute…sorry hollyweird I know full well how you have glamorized ! sex workers…see I know the latest pc terms…one of the 27 reasons listed in the dec.of Independence was that of the absence of jury trials…so I certainly would like that…alto we have seen in the mockery of OJ s trial etc that a jury if not picked fairly can be just a tool of satan! I must confess I have not stoned anyone in years so your question is mute with me! Try finding an outlet, like a hobby.collecting stamps or hugging a tree

Okay, I’m probably wrong and wayyy too late to respond to this but, wasn’t Jesus’ response to this that if anyone amongst us has NEVER sinned, then they may cast the first stone??

I think with that said, He has taken care of any doubts? Right? 🤷
