Oooops! I just bought a $100 worth of Catholic books on amazon.com
Oh, which ones?Oooops! I just bought a $100 worth of Catholic books on amazon.com
So do I. Often I joke that my only vices are books and coffee. But unfortunately, due to time constraints I will often start a book and not be able to finish it for weeks, and by that time I have forgotten where I left off. I have the “unread book” problem too. Is there a self-help group?I buy paper books and refuse to stare at another screen after work. And I have a ton of paper books.
Peace,
Ed
Hum!!! That’s very interesting. That’s one way to get yourself published. You can read lots of books free online: free-online-novels.com/christian.html
I do this, and nowadays, I’ve got so many boxes of books, I just check them out from the library. It’s good all over.I buy paper books and refuse to stare at another screen after work. And I have a ton of paper books.

I think ebooks have so far been pretty bad, in terms of generating revenue for authors. All it really has done is lower the bar, and make it possible for much, much more “noise” in the literary environment.Kay Cee’s post 11

However,
if you put your book on the internet free for anybody to read ( and copy!),
the odds are no printing house will ever print your book. :crying:

The flood of books being written on computers, and even submitted by computer email,Writers didn’t get much, to begin with, and now it’s less. Wanna bes will work for free, of course.
Good advice. Over the last few years I’ve developed a bad habit of buying books I don’t need. They’re mostly on my alleged personal “interests”, half of which I haven’t got the time to indulge in anyway. I don’t buy much fiction, but I’ve got a ton of other stuff.I think you need to get into the library habit. Much cheeper and you can still hold the book in your hands - and then you don’t have to find a shelf space for a book you will never read again. The only books you should buy are those you use all the time, not just once or twice. Also you can read many good books online at no cost. Learn to appreciate what is available for free. Also, for really cheep books, haunt the used book stores and garage and estate sales, but maybe, in your, case, that might be a bad idea. .
