There is also an Evangelical version–the same thing without mentioning the word Catholic.

But in fact, after I had first seen it (the Catholic version) this spring I had several Protestant friends send me links to “the awesome video put out by the Catholic Church”…

Make that “the awesome video put out by people who are part of the Catholic Church”.

Just Rightists making a “Catholics must vote for Romney” piece. . . . .

Fits right in around here.

That is an interesting point of view. I was reading a “Leftist” (:p) blog where people were discussing getting together to make a video to refute this one.

As far as I know they haven’t done so (yet). They had lots of ideas, too–several scripts worth.

A google of the title of the video brings up quite a bit of interesting discussion. I recommend research to anyone who is interested–no matter What your point of view happens to be.

As far as I know we are still free to produce videos of this type, Catholic, Protestant, Jewish, Muslim, Democrat, Republican, Libertarian, Peace and Freedom, Socialist etc.

We are also free to apply whatever label to them that, in our opinion, fits.

Well done. But I wonder how much influence these videos really have. The themes were echoed at the July 4 Mass at our parish. We were reminded that religious liberty came to this nation at a great cost, and still comes at a hefty price to many around the world.

While our nation is a little over 200 years old, the Church has been around 10x that long. Through the centuries, the Church has witnessed all forms of tyranny against Christians and the Church itself. What’s at stake here is not a tempest in a tea pot. No, we’re at a crossroads. As Thomas Jefferson said, “All tyranny needs to gain a foothold is for people of good conscience to remain silent.”

I applaud the American Bishops for standing up to the tyranny of the federal government. The silent majority will awaken - hopefully before it’s too late.

Do you realise what you are saying? You are saying that the right to life and protecting traditional marriage are partisan?

They didn’t say you have to vote for Romney. They just said that there are certain very important moral issues coming up, and you should consider that when voting.

Quite frankly, the Democrat Party pulls the same stuff, talking about how the GOP want to eliminate any government aid to the poor, take away Social Security, push Grandma over the cliff, and those are all lies.

At least when people suggest that voting for the opponent of the most pro-abortion candidate around, they are telling the truth.

Unfortunately most Catholics are blissfully unaware as to the extent that the culture, the government, academia, and the elites have turned against them–turned against religion entirely, and would like to eradicate it. The fury of the government and the elites will be especially focused against the Catholic Church. People just don’t see what’s coming. They should be prepared for persecution, followed by a new dark age of civilization.
