I have to be honest. I need some help. It seems to just get harder and harder … I am fighting with myself every day, just to not give up the whole idea of becoming part of the Church. I feel out of place and mostly unwelcome in my parish … frustrated with the lame preaching … frustrated with the fact that so many Catholics there do not take their faith seriously and are there only for cultural reasons, and even those that are involved in their faith seem to be very concerned with “miracles” and “revelations” that are not even approved, like Medjugorje, while they don’t even know some of the basics of Christian belief. I continue to be upset and disturbed by the priest abuse scandal and I am afraid of priests and deacons. And then when I feel this way, I think, “The Catholic Church just makes me miserable,” and I have to remind myself that that is not true, but as I said, it is a constant fight with myself and with all these fears. I really needed Mass, but I panicked …
