The O.Carm “Leaven” which is a lay institute of consecrated life includes women in business and the workforce who continue as consecrated lay women in their normal workplace situations. They did begin in community life with a view to being religious and then discerned a different call and moved out of the monastic situation where they had been living in community to resume their normal lay lives living in their own homes, which has now become “The Leaven” - based I think in Ireland.

This is very true…yet we are called to be yeast and leaven, the salt of the earth, which includes to high pressure business situations also … and prepared to be Catholic Christians in such a workplace. Of course, this could be the call within the vocation of marriage also, as well as the single state. Jesus was not married.A vocation to marriage has always existed. The lure and attraction of a high-pressure business life has not.
