This is not surprising. How could one not be happy when one is serving God on a constant 24-hour a day basis?

There was another recent study (in Forbes? something like that) showing that people in careers like ministry, teaching etc were happier than their peers in careers like banking or law.

Contrary to modern portrayals in secular sources, a new study shows that priests are among the happiest people in the U.S. This study was made of thousands of priests by a clinical professor of pastoral studies at Catholic University. Results of this study include the finding that celibacy does not mean loneliness.

Greetings Mdgspence,

What a wonderful thing to share. I agree with prior poster, how could one not be happy serving God 24/7? I am sure if they did a study of contemplative orders they might find the same thing. What a wonderful thing to be called to a life of prayer.

God Bless.
