True. And I would not defend it. It was certainly wrong, disgusting and not right, not a Christian thing, even if Christians were doing it.
And yet there were many Christians who defended it in its day, just as hasantas has defended it above.

All wrong, all ungodliness within a societal context, comes from an elitist attitude that we are the owners of Truth.

I reiterate. This thread is littered with it.

Baha’is should not be defending the beauty of Islam to the adherents of such a wonderful religion such as Catholicism and Orthodox Christianity.

.

It’s very easy to see if a religion is from God or not by what it teaches. Christ taught love.

Muhammad taught freedom of belief. Christ had to die to establish His Faith and Muhammad had to fight against genocide to promote freedom of worship.

What Christians and Muslims do cannot ever be blamed on God. If I’m disobedient it’s not the Bible or,Quran’s fault.

All these religions teach good not evil. The problem today is people are judging God by man’s actions so He rejects the Quran and religion but if one goes to the Source whether it be the Bible or Quran or Dhammapada one can see clearly they all teach good. They are like trees and with good fruit.

History shows wars and hate and violence but these books don’t teach that. That’s why I accept them all because it’s the followers not the Books which are sometimes evil. There is nothing but good coming from these Books so it’s very easy to accept what’s good because God is goodness.

None of it was His Words, it was all the Father’s 🙂

John 12:49 For I did not speak on my own, but the Father who sent me commanded me to say all that I have** spoken**

.
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

John 1:1

There are many cases of people of Faith doing contrary to what their Faith has instructed them to do. All individual cases have varying levels of lasting results.

If you wish we could discuss the result of Christianity in relation to American Indians or Australian Aboriginals.

I would suggest that digging up dirt just shows that man is fallible and needs Gods Word and the wisdom all the more.

Again look for the good and let’s work on that, there is a lot of Good as Gods word is Good.

The Quran is God?
You are aware of what was being said, but if you wish for a rewording, The Bible and the Koran are the revealed Word of God. As is the Old Testament and the writings of the Bab and Baha’u’llah. A few more can be added as well.

Regards Tony

The quote you commented on quoted John 1.1 In the beginning was the word… and the word was God.

You said the Quran is also that word, therefore the Quran is God. If the Quran is not God then it is not the Word described in John 1.1.

Romans 10:3-4
3 “Not recognising God’s saving justice they have tried to establish their own, instead of submitting to the saving justice of God.”

4 “But the Law has found its fulfilment in Christ so that all who have faith will be justified.”

In the Catechism of the Catholic Church 1977 “Christ is the end of the law (cf. Rom 10:4);only he teaches and bestows the justice of God.”🙂

I can safely say that both the Koran and the Bible on my tableside are not God 😉 But I know when I open them and read what is written on the pages, they do indeed contain the “Words” of God.

Go for it, make the books God if you wish?

Inscription in the Old Bible Written by ‘Abdu’l-Bahá in Persian;

THIS book is the Holy Book of God, of celestial Inspiration. It is the Bible of Salvation, the Noble Gospel. It is the mystery of the Kingdom and its light. It is the Divine Bounty, the sign of the guidance of God.
‘Abdu’l-Bahá Abbás.

God bless and regards Tony

Then the Quran is not the word described in John 1.1, the word which became flesh and dwelt among us.

What an absurd argument.

What else can I say to that. You really think a material book is God?

Biblical scripture please. May be a Catholic writing to offer?

Regards Tony

You were the one who said it, not I. If you believe the quran to be the word or logos in John 1.1 then accept the part that says the word is God.

Follow through with your words.

That’s not what he said though was it Tony, mate?

And I suspect you know that.

If the only thing written in the Bible was… “The Sky is Blue” … people would argue

that… and says something Like… " well, at night it’s not Blue". 🙂

So you as a bahai are an elitist then?
I must be! Lol

Especially when I claim all religions come from the one God.
When I claim that both Islam/Judaism AND Chrustianity are true on their positions on God and who Jesus was.

So elitist of me…

🙂
