Not just by reading, but experiencing.🙂

After the experience, it was written in the New Testament that Love was exactly what Jesus said it was.

Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them.- John 14:27

I don’t suppose the Qur’an goes so far honoring Jesus?

You don’t think that there is rapturous love in Islam and the Baha’i Faith?

Do you think we are attached to the Words of these Manifestations of God, Martin?

People die because a Book is intellectually appealing?

It’s the Person, Martin. Muslims and Baha’is have fallen in love with a Person…👍👍

If claiming Christ, then the Apostolic tradition (living testimony) should take precedence. 🙂

Christians never claimed they follow a book or die for it.

If claiming Yahweh, then Apostolic Tradition of the Rabbinic Order should take precedence 🙂

No one ever said Christian follow or die for a book. All religions are based around a Person.

Please don’t claim otherwise…

But this thread is about the Quran. Not about Rabbinic Tradition. 🙂

The Holy Bible and the quran give two different stories of the live and knowledge of Jesus. You can’t add words to what God already had said
The Koran and Bible do not Differ in the Spiritual Teachings, a few of the social laws are different applicable to each age they were revealed in.

The interpretation of some men do indeed make it appear they differ.

But the balance has now been given, this needs not to be the case anymore.

God Bless Unity and the Oneness of God.

Muhammad died and came back as Baha’u’llah so that He can state:
“Prefer your brother over yourself”
"JimmyDFG:
So in other words… muhammad reincarnated?
So now Jesus is reincarnated?
Let’s see these reincarnation themes:

Christians:
Jesus, God incarnate, became flesh. Died and rose again. Ascended to heaven and will come back to judge the living and the dead.

Islam sect: **
Urgently needed. Jesus please put off the judgment plan. Come down now. Be an Imam and get married.
**
Islam:

Muhammad died and buried. Rest in peace, say the Christians. Peace be with you, say the Muslims.

Another Islam sect:
Hey Muhammad, sorry to interrupt your rest and your peace. Come to earth. Be a holy person, and teach us a new religion. Not so much like what Jesus taught about love but just teach us TO PREFER OUR BROTHERS than ourselves.

:D;)

Please provide Mohammed’s words according to the Quran as per above.🙂

Probably the closest Qur’anic verse would be found in

135 *And they say: Be Jews or Christians, then ye will be rightly guided. Say (unto them, O Muhammad): Nay, but (we follow) the religion of Abraham, the upright, and he was not of the idolaters.
*
136 Say (O Muslims): We believe in Allah and that which is revealed unto us and that which was revealed unto Abraham, and Ishmael, and Isaac, and Jacob, and the tribes, and that which Moses and Jesus received, and that which the prophets received from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and unto Him we have surrendered.
*
137
And if they believe in the like of that which ye believe, then are they rightly guided. But if they turn away, then are they in schism, and Allah will suffice thee (for defence) against them. He is the Hearer, the Knower.

(The Qur’an (Pickthall tr), Sura 2 - The Cow)

Jesus said:

I go away, and come again unto you (John 14:28)

Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. (John 16:7)

The Quran says:

And remember when Jesus the son of Mary said, “ O children of Israel! of a truth I am God’s apostle to you to confirm the law which was given before me, and to announce an apostle that shall come after me whose name shall be Ahmad! ” Quran 61:6

Jesus, the son of Mary, said, “A messenger will come after me, named Ahmad.” [Holy Quran 61:6]

Muhammad claimed to be the messenger Jesus foretold but Jesus said ‘I’ will come again unto you so the Quran, the Word of God is saying the Muhammad is Jesus which Muhammad confirmed by that verses allusion to Christ ‘going away and coming back again’.

The Quran explains how Muhammad will be denounced as a liar.

But when he (Ahmad) presented himself with clear proofs of his mission, they said, ” This is manifest sorcery! ” But who more impious than he who when called to Islam deviseth a falsehood concerning God? God guideth not the wicked! (Quran 61:7)

So to summarise: the same ‘sun’ did return on a different day by a different name and it was predicted in the Quran that people would call it a lie.

So when the sun of Monday goes away and the Sun of Tuesday arrives people argue it’s not the same sun. But it is.

Worldcitizen and arthra have provided some nice passages above Martin, and I just thought I would add a further hadith where Muhammad was asked when He was chosen as a Prophet to which He replied: "I was a Prophet when Adam was between the water and the mud - before he came into existence" - Ibn Arabi, Futuhat 1,243

I have no idea what the purpose of this post is Reuben??

There is a story I once read where God dropped His Mirror and it shattered into fragments and fell upon the earth.

Each person who found a fragment celebrated that they had found the truth to the exception of everyone else and then conflict arose and wars and killing began, each trying to impose their ‘fragment of truth’ upon the others until they had almost annihilated each other.

Then a wise man suggested they join their fragments together calmly and peacefully. As time passed by and they began to join the fragments they put the mirror back together. And then when they looked into the mirror they all saw the Face of God!!

It was their stubbornness in clinging to their own tiny fragment that had caused all the wars but when they had agreed to put the fragments together they found the same truth for truth is one.

There is truth in all religions and all beliefs and when they are joined together we will find ourselves that we all believe in the same thing.

Like the fragments, today each religion asserts it is the only way. But when they look calmly and put the pieces together they will find they all believe in truth.

If there is truth in Christ there is also truth in Buddha and Moses and Muhammad but when we cling to our own ‘fragment’ we remain at odds with each other and disunited.

I’ve seen the mirror all put together and so I see no contradictions but only see the Face of God.

"truth was a mirror in the hands of God. It fell, and broke into pieces. Everybody took a piece of it, and they looked at it and thought they had the truth.” Rumi

And… we believe that the Devil can add phony “fragments” to the mix also… and distort the Face of God, and a truly Wise Man can recognize this.

I disagree respectfully. I think those new to catholism and christianity in general should avoid the Koran. Primarily because it is written as polemically opposite the church. It removes the value of baptism, holy orders, the Eucharist , and creates in its wake confusion for christians not strong in their faith. Remember the Holy Bible is the inspired word of God in the words of men. This is part of our Christian faith. However, to muslims their Holy Koran is the word of God period. Now, those christians who are strong in their faith formation and teachings of the church could try to read it get to know the muslim mindset and if they do they’ll quickly, see some of contradictions the Koran gets wrong about christianity one is the view that the christian trinity is God the Father, Mary, and Jesus,is one such example, the other is the denial of Jesus’s death and resurrection. However, anyone weak or unsure in the faith should not read book.
Very well written. I greatly agree. I am Maronite Catholic. We are one of the eastern rites from Lebanon. We were heavily involved in the Lebanese Civil War, in which a coalition of Orthodox and Catholics defended ourselves from Shi’ite, Sunni and Druze aggression, even as they were warring amongst themselves.

Furthermore, al-Qur’an permits things that are grave mortal sins and are not beneficial to be studied by catechumens. Sometimes, we Catholics are guilty of practicing false ecumenism - that is, inter-faith relations without the call to convert. Some take it even further, even feeling it necessary to abase their own Catholic faith in order to appease non-Catholics. If al-Qur’an is to be studied, it should be studied by grown adult confirmed members of the Church under the guidance of a clergyman.

Furthermore, the negative verses of al-Qur’an must be evaluated, no matter how rough it may make Islam look. If we are to understand Islam, we must understand al-Qur’an - ALL of it, not just the flowery, poetic Surahs. I mean, the verses that command people to commit violence against non-Muslims, as well as the ones which permit pedophilia and sex slavery.

al-Jihad:

**Quran (8:12) - “I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Therefore strike off their heads and strike off every fingertip of them”

Quran (8:67) - “It is not for a Prophet that he should have prisoners of war until he had made a great slaughter in the land…”

Quran (9:5) - “So when the sacred months have passed away, then slay the idolaters wherever you find them, and take them captive and besiege them and lie in wait for them in every ambush, then if they repent and keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate, leave their way free to them.”

Quran (9:14) - “Fight against them so that Allah will punish them by your hands and disgrace them and give you victory over them and heal the breasts of a believing people.”

Quran (9:29) - “Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued.”

Quran (9:123) - “O you who believe! fight those of the unbelievers who are near to you and let them find in you hardness.”

Quran (17:16) - “And when We wish to destroy a town, We send Our commandment to the people of it who lead easy lives, but they transgress therein; thus the word proves true against it, so We destroy it with utter destruction.”

Quran (48:29) - “Muhammad is the messenger of Allah. And those with him are hard (ruthless) against the disbelievers and merciful among themselves” **

But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let them be under God’s curse! Galatians 1:8

Its not a false claim dear Jimmy 🙂
God instructed Moses to kill His enemies
God instructed Muhammad to kill His enemies.

Is Jesus not God?
If Jesus was not God, then I would agree, its a false claim, but that’s not the case is it?

.
“Jesus instructed Moses to kill all His enemies, and their wives and their children.” If Jesus instructed this it MUST be in the New Testament. If its not in the New Testament than what you said is a false statement. What Jesus has said is in Matthew 5:44 “But I say this to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you;”

What he means is before Jesus became Jesus, he was with the Father in the Trinity and the Trinity instructed Moses to kill all His enemies, and their wives and their children.

Are Christian required to believe the quran and the hadith and the “prophet”? A warning from Jesus…
Matthew 24:11 “Many false prophets will arise; they will deceive many”
