Hello, I am new to this forum so hopefully this is the correct category in which to post this.

I have been comfortably agnostic for most of my life, though to be fair I am a child. But, these past few months I have been overwhelmed by the urge to convert to Catholicism and become a member of the Church so that I can share the passion I have for glory of the Lord with as many people as possible. I can’t see myself as anything other than a priest in the future, which is frightening. I’m not old enough to pay for a Catholic education, and my parents are already spending so much money on my medical complications (another roadblock) that it would be unfair to ask them for any more than what they are already doing. They are disturbed by my sudden calling to the Church. I am also anxious that I will not be good enough to truly please the Lord, in His full glory.

Has anyone else experienced this? I currently am praying and meditating for hours at a time, and trying to find any way to teach myself in preparation to begin this journey physically as soon as it is medically possible. Any advice on where to begin in learning or just general guidance from those who can understand this mess of a post would be greatly appreciated. May God bless you all.

Good! But your calling must be well ordered, obedient and done with as much humility as you can muster. Our Lord’s instruction here is helpful:
Luke 14:8-11
“When you are invited by any one to a marriage feast, do not sit down in a place of honor, lest a more eminent man than you be invited by him; and he who invited you both will come, and say to you, ‘Give place to this man,’ and then you will begin with shame to take the lowest place. But when you are invited, go and sit in the lowest place, so that when your host comes he may say to you, ‘Friend, go up higher’; then you will be honored in the presence of all who sit at table with you. For every one who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.”
First, work on personal holiness - a profound interior life. And, with the virtue of patience, your role in the faith will be revealed to you in good time.

Thank you very much for the advice and for the verse as well. I will continue to do every thing God wills me to act on internally and have patience in understanding this confusing change. Have a good rest of your day/evening and again thank you so much

Thank you so much for the outline and advice. I have been studying the Catechism and looking at RCIA booklets, and will continue to until I am old enough to start. Your words are extremely helpful. Have a great rest of your day
