I juat encountered this thread. I am so sorry for your loss.😦

I watched the video, I get it. Oh yes, I get it. I can’t stop crying.

Every moment, every second of life is so precious.:signofcross:

It’s the next day and I STILL can’t stop crying. I am so sorry. It is beautiful all the love and support you have received, not only from these forums, but from your Church and community as well. I will be holding my children a little tighter today. Again I am so so sorry.😦

Ana - your in my club now! Crying is as much a part of me as breathing …

Thank you … and definately hug the beautiful gifts from God tighter …

Life takes on a whole new meaning now …

An amazing song! And so very perfect to salute her life.

Here are the lyrics for those who may not be able to view YouTube:

**Seasons Of Love
**five hundred twenty five thousand six hundred minutes
five hundred twenty five thousand moments so dear
five hundred twenty five thousand six hundred minutes
how do you measure? measure a year

in daylights,
in sunsets,
in midnights,
in cups of coffee,
in inches, in miles, in laughter, in strife

in five hundred twenty five thousand six hundred minutes
how do you measure a year in a life?

how about love?
how about love?
how about love?
measure in love…
seasons of love…
seasons of love…

(female soloist)
five hundred twenty five thousand six hundred minutes
five hundred twenty five thousand journeys to plan
five hundred twenty five thousand suix hundred minutes
how do you measure a life of a woman or a man

(male soloist)
in truths that she learned
or in times that she cried
in bridges he burned
or the way that she died

(all)
its time now to sing out though
the story never ends
let’s celebrate remember a year in a life
of friends

remember the love…
(oh you gotta remember the love)
remember the love…
(oh yeah, its a gift from up above)
remember the love…
(sing out, give out, measure your life
in looooooove…!!!)
seasons of love…
seasons of love…

Moe just checking in again, I am so saddened to hear: what caused KK’s death. I hope when time has passed and you are stronger you can bring awareness to it. You Greg and Amanda are still in my daily prayers!:gopray2:

Moe,
Still holding you up in prayer. I am thinking of you here in Oklahoma. I pray for you every day. You’ll get through this, but will never be the same; however, someday you will be able to laugh and live again, I promise.
Love you,

Hi Moe ❤️

Thank you for keeping me in your prayers - i’m afraid of this coming weekend. I really thought that i would be more emotionally mature this year… but alas, it does not seem like it is going to be the case… one day… I want to go looking for a huge rock to crawl under. If only God could just fast forward a couple of days huh?
How did everything go yesterday? PRayedhard for you!

Dearest Moe,
I hope you are doing well today. I know your heart feels like one big bruise. There’s nothing anyone can say or do. All I can do for you is pray, which I do many times.
How is your other daughter holding up? How about your DH? I am so glad KK’s grave is so close to your house. It must be such a blessing to be able to have her that close and yet so sad. I am sorry that I don’t have the right words to express the way I feel for you. I wish I was a better writer.
Does it help to know that I have friends that have had this unspeakable tragedy happen to them and they were able to go on again through faith in God?
I love you!
Lissa

Dearest Moe,

My Friend Lissa:

I hope you are doing well today. I know your heart feels like one big bruise. There’s nothing anyone can say or do. All I can do for you is pray, which I do many times.

Yes, our hearts do feel like there is one big bruise … It is amazing how exhausting grieving is … thankfully we still have dinners being prepared for us … so I go to work and come home and it is a blessing I don’t have to think about cooking.

**Prayer and letting me know you are thinking is therapeutic … especially the praying part. **

How is your other daughter holding up? How about your DH?

She is doing well … re-building the barn is given her and Greg some relief from the constant pain …. She is happy in her riding lessons too … and helping neighbors with their horses …

I am so glad KK’s grave is so close to your house. It must be such a blessing to be able to have her that close and yet so sad.

Yes, it is good to have her home … although I see her daily (sometimes twice) it doesn’t stop the pain … but gives you some comfort … but you go and then look at her cross and you just can’t believe it!
I am sorry that I don’t have the right words to express the way I feel for you. I wish I was a better writer.

**You’re a perfect writer … 🙂 **

Does it help to know that I have friends that have had this unspeakable tragedy happen to them and they were able to go on again through faith in God?

**Yes, it does … that is why I read so much … although we feel no hope … people who have been through what we have do, years later … so that is the hope for me … I just cant’ imagine feeling happy again …. Or without the constant ache … **

I love you!
Lissa

Loving you from NH xo

Hi Moe:heart:

Thank you… Forgive me, this may be a long one…

It is all over…I think this year was easier than last to be honest with you in some ways, as i knew what to expect.

I organised for a Mass to be said at 8am, but when i got there i read the bulletin and they had changed it and nobody rang me… The Mass that was being offered up for daddy was the 10am one. That upset me a bit, but a Mass *was *said…

I cried my heart out and just held daddy and kissed him and read all his suicide notes and i asked God to look after him. I am confident that he is in heaven. I tried to imagine his despair. The way he wrote his notes so bravely and so beautifully said sorry and thank you to people, the way he rang my aunty to make sure i knew he loved me and Braden and the agony he must have had doing it the way that he actually did - he did not choose an easy way - i think it was to punish himself.

People have said to me that God understands that he wasn’t in his right mind, but what scares me is that i know my daddy* and *my aunty said she has never heard him *so calm as that night… he was at peace *with his decision. That is a very hard thing to be able to do. He knew what he was doing Moe, that is hard for me but it also shows me that he wasn’t a coward, he had guts. I am not proud or happy about how he went about it, but it was his choice. I was not in his body to know his physical and mental pain and anguish. But i have his notes to go by, and i can see that he could not go on as he was deteriorating fast. He was a proud man and would not let anyone look after him - not even me - that is what hurts me more than anything else i think. 😦

20th June is the next hard day (and my best friend’s birthday) as that is when they found daddy and the day his best friend had to identify him and my heart bleeds for what Tom went through that day and since then - with that as a memory. I wish i would have been the one. 2nd September - that is when they finally got off their butts and contacted me - i am still *at times *angry with the police. 29th September was they day he finally got his funeral. Braden’s birthday is 4th September and Darren’s is 30th September. So September is both a happy and sad month. But not nearly as sad as this past weekend was for me. I will handle them. I am confident. It can only get better, this was the second year. The first 18 months were the worst.

So let’s change the subject… How are you going? I do not expect you to reply with a “Oh great Sonja!” but you know what i mean? They say time heals, but i wonder if it the same for all people Moe? I don’t think so somehow…😦 I pray i am wrong.

I pray that you wake up to sunshine and feel God’s love warm your face and body and that you have the strength that you need to sustain you through the day and night.

Went to the funeral on Friday of my beloved Elsie who passed away last Tuesday of a heart attack?, but even though i am very sad as we loved her - she was 96 (and still driving a car mind you) and she was as sharp as a button and had all her faculties and still told awesome jokes. We then had a wedding on Saturday, so it was a mixed emotions weekend.

My poor husband has a 3am start in the morning and he is a concrete truck driver - it will be pitch black and freezing at that time of the morning, but buildings must go up i suppose… I must go wake him up as he is on the lounge zzzzzzing and will get a sore neck and not be able to sleep properly when he ‘transfers’ to bed.

I pray that you are coping hour by hour - they all add up honey!

As always,

❤️

Hi Moe

That is good … I am glad to hear it!

The Mass that was being offered up for daddy was the 10am one. That upset me a bit, but a Mass was said…

**That is upsetting – but you are right - a Mass was said! **

The way he wrote his notes so bravely and so beautifully said sorry and thank you to people,

**I can’t even imagine the pain and turmoil you must be going through … the one thing that sustains me is to know that KK went quickly … and she was happy prior to leaving us. My only prayer is that her Angel was with her and took her up to heaven.

I asked the cardiologist who tested Amanda if KK knew she was dying … he waited a minute and he shook his head … he said I don’t think so … she was probably more embarrassed that the cute boy next to her was looking at her not feeling well. I get great anxiety thinking about it.**

People have said to me that God understands that he wasn’t in his right mind, but what scares me is that

**You can’t be responsible for your dad’s action’s Sonja. All you can do it pray for his soul and I truly believe no one who takes their life is in their right mind. It is a sickness … there is no way he could have been in his right mind.

Was he Catholic?**

… his best friend had to identify him and my heart bleeds for what Tom went through that day and since then - with that as a memory. I wish i would have been the one.

Probably just as well that it wasn’t you … really – it was God’s grace that it wasn’t you.

… But not nearly as sad as this past weekend was for me. I will handle them. I am confident. It can only get better, this was the second year. The first 18 months were the worst.

Why did the police wait so long? I don’t’ understand that.

So let’s change the subject… How are you going? I do not expect you to reply with a “Oh great Sonja!” but you know what i mean? They say time heals, but i wonder if it the same for all people Moe? I don’t think so somehow… I pray i am wrong

Tough days – we got KK’s birth certificate in the mail last night … pretty emotional … we were all a wreck and Amanda had another episode … The poor thing … bad enough Greg and I have to feel this pain – I wish I could take Amanda’s pain away – she shouldn’t have to deal with this so young.

I told her this morning that she doesn’t need to be strong for Daddy and I. We will get through this (I hope…I didn’t tell her that) … and that we are all here for each other.

I can only hope that …. I got out the Compassionate Friends Folder we received from the funeral home … so I can contact someone. I was in such despair yesterday – called Greg and he couldn’t help me … because he is going through the same thing; called my sister and she couldn’t help me …. I am just a wreck …

.

I pray that you wake up to sunshine and feel God’s love warm your face and body and that you have the strength that you need to sustain you through the day and night.

**I still don’t feel him … but I know that he is sustaining me … I still haven’t dreamt of my sweet beautiful McKayla … I am in agony over that …… I am in agony over everything … I can’t even imagine living the rest of my life with so much pain … **

…96 (and still driving a car mind you) and she was as sharp as a button and had all her faculties and still told awesome jokes. We then had a wedding on Saturday, so it was a mixed emotions weekend.

**96 …GOD PLEASE DON’T LET ME LIVE TO 96  **

We took Fr. Don, our Pastor, out to brunch after Mass. It was great to be with him. We were with him, my sister and her husband and McKayla’s Best Friend and her family. It was nice … I came home after that and slept for a couple of hours. Sleep is a great escape from pain.

I have fallen asleep on my couch the past couple of nights watch the redsox play … late games because they are in the west coast … tonight they are in Boston!

I pray that you are coping hour by hour - they all add up honey!

**Just getting by …

Thinking and praying for you in NH … Love Moe**

As always,

Hi Moe:heart:

We are Croatian & Catholic, but he was never one for Church - only weddings and baptisms. He went to Christmas Mass in 2004 and died 2005, so i am happy that he did after all these years, he went with his best friend & his family. ❤️

When dad lived and worked at the pub, the republican Marie had the HIDE to photocopy one of my envelopes that contained a letter & photos in it - so that she would have Charlie’s daughter’s details. She also rang me right after dad’s funeral & boy did i* give it to her as she didn’t pay my dad properly (& she didn’t know that i knew,) that is when she told me she had photocopied my details. Dad died, Marie apparently put notices in the local paper praising dad for his workmanship in the town etc… & gave Helen the Real Estate lady MY name & address etc who in turn took it to the* police and gave it to them on 20 June. I spoke to Helen & she said she went to the police on a number of occasions to ask had they told me yet as she did not want to be the one to do it (dad’s stuff had to be out of the unit) & they would tell her nothing. I am married, have a silent number, but my mother still carries my father’s name & IS in the phone book & there are maybe 10 people with our surname in there. The police asked Tom **that day “Who is Sonja?” So they 'KNEW I EXISTED! The police in my State rang me 3 months later, Western Australian police had only just passed the info onto them - 2 days before father’s day & it was Braden’s 2nd birthday on father’s day that year… The police told me he left 2 notes, when i received the death certificate from the Coroner - there were 6 notes NOT 2! They destroyed the original notes, why? I wanted them. His wallet and watch etc all just disappeared. The police offered to send me the rope he used, so then i demanded it, but they never sent it. But for them to offer me the rope that my own father put around his neck?? ** what is wrong with them? ** My doctor sent me to a psychologist straight away that day as i went balistic in the surgery. This really sent me over the edge as IF they sent me the rope, i would have caught a plane back over there and put it **around the constable’s neck for lying to me and for making my daddy lie on a cold slab in a morgue for 3 months - how DARE they do that!!! They didn’t care, they KNEW i was in Canberrra. Kalgoorlie police passed the buck to the Canberra police, who then passed the back to the Queanbeyan police (different jurisdiction and we are just out of the city). Canberra police rang me at 1pm, as soon as she asked did i know Charlie Jukic - i felt it and said yes, what has happened to him? She said that he had passed away but she could not tell me how on the telephone and the police would come to my house. Mum and my aunty came over (mum’s sister not the one who my dad rang before he did it) and we waited and waited… At 5.30pm i rang them back & said i needed to know HOW? & they asked if i could go into the Queanbeyan police station. I waited for Darren & we got there about 7pm. I was standing at the counter & told them who i was. They never asked me to even sit down… He abruptly said “Do you want to know how he died?” I said “yes” & he bluntly said “he hung himself.”

You have never heard anyone scream the way i did in the police station and outside. I just collapsed right there and then. I rang mum just screaming and screaming and screaming… No, no, not like that daddy… He always loved those damn cowboy movies, everyone hangs in them.

Moe, if dad died of a heart atttack, car accident, i would have been heartbroken, but not like this. The actual suicide is a problem but it is also how the police handled this - honest to God, i am a nutcase half due to them! With what they have made me go through mentally and emotionally. No one wanted to help me. They are incompetent & they lied to me. I wrote to the Coroner explaining that no one would help me and i **needed to know what was wrong with daddy… He left a note of all his medications and i just re-discovered it on Sunday - a list of his doctors and their phone numbers, so today i am going to ring them and will have to prove who he was and who i am etc, hope they help me. I know he had bowel cancer 5 yrs before he died, they operated and he was ok. He became sick the last 6 months again, lost so much weight and one of his notes says that his arms and legs don’t work, some of the medication works but it takes too long and he is 65… Gave his car and tools to Tom… God bless him and his soul. I am still a mess some days Moe, but i don’t have your **pain. Sorry, I’m out of room, love Sonja xxx

**I can’t even imagine the pain and turmoil you must be going through … the one thing that sustains me is to know that KK went quickly … and she was happy prior to leaving us. My only prayer is that her Angel was with her and took her up to heaven. **

**I can’t imagine your **pain Moe… It does distress me to think of him hanging there for long or kicking the crate away… 😦 Lord Bless Him.

** I get great anxiety…**

** 🙂 Anxiety… have you talked to your doctor about medication - i should still be on them.******

He had a Catholic funeral even though his notes said: No Church service, doors closed for the cremation service, his ashes in the rubbish, no notices in the papers. He tried to cover his tracks so that i would never find out. My father was told by my aunty how i **yearned **to be with him again, i have always ADORED my daddy, i didn’t just love him, i **adored **him Moe…

Probably just as well that it wasn’t you … really – it was God’s grace that it wasn’t you.

**I still wish it was- i would have seen him & touched him. I had not seen him since 1980. I begged Frank from the funeral home - "can’t you just put a cloth over his face and let me just kiss his forehead, hands - that is ***all **i wanted. I was told that under no circumstances would i be able to see him. *** That ripped my heart apart. Mum said she has never seen anyone so lost. I had a nervous breakdown, lost a stone etc… Taping the eulogy WAS the hardest part and the songs… In order… Carol King - So Far Away, Bread - Everything I Own (written about David Gates’ dad,) and at the end Elvis - Bridge Over Troubled Water - my favourite…

**Moe, you can ring me REVERSE charges any time! I am going to PM you my number, I ** DO ****mean it. With my calling card, for $10 i can call the US and talk for 714 minutes - cheap!

I still don’t feel him … but I know that he is sustaining me … I still haven’t dreamt of my sweet beautiful McKayla … I am in agony over that …… I am in agony over everything … I can’t even imagine living the rest of my life with so much pain … **
**
I pray you will dream her soon.

Dearest Moe,
I don’t know your plans for the day but I am praying you. I have to go play the piano at a funeral mass at 10:00 a.m. I will light a candle for you and your family.
Give your day to the Lord and call on the Holy spirit to comfort you today. Maybe that will help a little bit.
Love and hugs,
Lissa

Hi Lissa:

Thank you so much … brings me comfort … KK was an accomplished pianist … and how I miss her magical sounds …

How was the funeral … I have been told by people the McKayla’s funeral was a religious experience … isn’t that wonderful?

Loving you from NH - Moe**

The funeral was kind of weird…the family wanted me to play “We’ve Only Just Begun” because that was the deceased and her husband’s “song” together. I’ve been to and played at a lot of funerals and that was a definite first for me. Hopefully the last. I drew the line on playing that song during Communion. I called and told my best friend (also a church organist) and she laughed so hard she dropped the phone.
I’m thinking about writing a book called “Crises in the Choir Loft” because of all the weird stuff that goes on up there.

I am surprised the church allowed that … our parish wouldn’t! 🙂 You are funny!

Yes, as hard as it was to walk in her hospital room and see her there (but not) … she was cold and the ravages of death already started marking her body. I couldn’t stop kissing and hugging her … God it is so painful.
