Dear Moe ❤️

Thank you for helping me this week. I haven’t realised how much i am still grieving for daddy. 😦 Yesterday i ended up a bigger mess than Sunday. Sent a girlfriend a sms the night before telling her it was ‘safe’ as i was out of the woods, when she turned up i howled and howled… I like to be alone when i feel like that… I am not on medication anymore, but it did help my tears. The hurt and pain was still there. I am proud of you in tackling this head on, without medications.

I have never been the same since - i’ve changed and i don’t think it’s for the better. I have been to Christian Grief Counselling & a Psychologist & i really don’t feel like pouring my heart out to ‘professionals’ anymore. God, my mother, priest and friends are my counsellors, pyschologists, psychiatrists, you name it! It has changed me as a mother, wife, daughter, sister, friend etc. I have suffered from depression for nearly 2 years. I just ‘don’t care’ about things anymore. Can’t pray like before, i can’t concentrate, 5 minutes**?** and my mind wanders.

I wish i had hymns for daddy, but it was* his *funeral, and i was in deep grief. But Bridge over troubled water is about God and how he will ease my daddy’s mind. Now, i wish i had also added “Here i am Lord, It is I Lord…” - my favourite!

I got in touch with daddy’s doctors. In all this mess, i forgot that i had their numbers - I cannot believe that these doctors names and numbers in *my father’s handwriting * have been in the folder all this time. I have 3 full folders on daddy with all the correspondence with the police, coroner, real estate etc. **Where have i been? ** 3 are away overseas and his general practioner was supposed to ring me back. One Neurosurgeon’s receptionist told me he had lost his ‘muscle’ and had great ‘muscle weakness’ but that was all she could tell me. I hope and pray that they tell me ‘everything’ as i panick as there is no cancer in mum’s family, but my dad’s is riddled with it. I worry for Braden.

I thank you for allowing me to grieve for my daddy through your post with your tremendous sorrow. McKayla’s virtual memorial is truly beautiful Moe… I never knew they did virtual memorials. I should have realised that Ally was McKayla’s best friend…

I pray that you will dream your McKayla. Even though she is in paradise with God, i am sure that she still misses you, how could she not? We only ever have one mother on this earth Moe… Love is from God, so the love continues up in heaven for those left on earth.

I am happy to hear about the redsox, they play baseball don’t they?? Yankees and Redsox, we have even heard of those teams down here… Especially thanks to George on Seinfield. My team is still on top i think, but they had the bye last week so will have to play well Friday night.

My mother said how she could never love anyone more than my brother and myself, but she lied Moe… She loves her grandson MORE than life itself. She would gladly give her all for Braden. Her mother told her when she was younger that the love you have for your grandchildren just overtakes your heart in such a way that it is** undescribable**. I see my mother when she looks at Braden, and when he talks to her i have NEVER seen such joy in her face as she eagerly listens to his little voice. She loves his little fingers, she kisses them to death, and his face, head, neck, legs, bottom etc. He IS her life! I pray that one day you will have that JOY!

The floods are wicked! One bridge collapsed while a young family where all on it in their car - they have all died. The State Government is blaming the Federal Governmnent and nobody wants to take the blame. It should NOT have happened! However they built the bridge - it was built wrong… they took shortcuts obviously… **and we are not happy little ****vegemites down here! **We are desperate for the rain here as our dams are not getting topped up and we are on stage 4 water restrictions soon. We really are running out of water in Australia - that is so scary for Braden’s generation. Houses have quadrupled in value while wages haven’t. He will never be able to afford a house 20 years from now, if we cannot afford **half a million Australian dollars for your average 3 bedroom home which is large but with literally no **backyard for your children to play in. The last 15 years, they are building huge houses with little courtyards for backyards.
Stage 4 water restrictions means NO watering any plants at all. We need a rain tank put in as we are *actually getting *rain! 😃 Thank you Jesus! Now we have looters going into people’s homes which have been flooded and taking what they can.

Thinking of you, and i apologise once again for raving on about my daddy so much…

As always,

❤️

Hi Moe:heart:

Just a quick one to let you know i went to a special Mass this afternoon that was said for my aunt and uncle as it is their anniversary. Afterwards mum, Braden and i stayed in Adoration for a while and at St Benedicts they have a little basket in front of The Blessed Sacrament and you put special prayers in there. I put a prayer in for McKayla, for you, Greg and Amanda.

I felt peace at St Benedicts… I pray that you feel a little peace tonight also…🙂

My father’s doctor rang me tonight… He filled in the gaps for me, so i am so much more at peace tonight…I am sad, upset and crying, but i know more now than before… I Thank God and i thank my daddy for leaving it all for me - without even realising that he was…🙂

God is GOOD!

Thank you Moe ❤️

As always,

❤️

A letter my husband wrote that will be in the school Monthly Newspaper**

The Geisinger family would like to attempt to place in words our appreciation to the staff, students and parents at AMS for their compassion after the tragic loss of our daughter McKayla. We have learned over the last 12 weeks that strength to survive comes from our faith in God, a peace from knowing we constantly expressed love to McKayla, and compassion from those who genuinely feel compelled to express it to you through thoughts, prayers and visits. We miss KK terribly, and are learning slowly how to cope with what feels like her disappearance. The response to our loss was tremendous and beyond anything we would have imagined.

KK had an abnormality in one of the arteries that pumps blood to the heart muscle. Our perfect girl nor her family knew she had it and as the medical examiner stated, typically it is discovered after sudden death. One cardiologist stated that 1 in 100,000 children have this defect and in the State of NH they expect the sudden death of an adolescent as a result every 18 months. Anyone involved with kids should know the many symptoms of someone who has a heart problem, and the symptoms are not simply pain in the chest or arm. If only someone had told us that neck pain is a fairly common symptom of a heart attack, our precious KK may be playing the piano at her sisters graduation as planned. KK would have required heart surgery, but in 98% of all cases the child had a 100% recovery. For more information you could visit www.americanheart.org and click on the heart attack and stroke warnings signs.

I also am compelled to mention to you that your AMS school staff, who some of them directly experienced the unimaginable, immediately responded to this tragedy in a way that was professional, compassionate, and considerate of ours, as well as everyone’s varying feelings. Tragedy struck suddenly, and from the onset, though grieving themselves, put in to place a plan to ensure that every child was back in their parents arms quickly and had the resources available to help them understand what they were feeling. Our daughter Amanda Graduates from AMS next week and we are saddened that we will no longer be involved with such a stellar group of people who work and volunteer at AMS. Our hearts are forever thankful.

Many parents contributed to the McKayla Geisinger Memorial fund, and some even gave their refund from the cancelled camp trip and we are happy to say that your contribution is tax deductible, and were generous enough that we can support an award in both Amherst and Mont Vernon schools for many years to come. Your generosity means that we can hear our daughters name mentioned in front of many people every year and that is something that will touch us more than you can understand.

Meals are brought to us every night from caring people many of whom we did not know. The compassion of people is a powerful medicine that aids healing in a way traditional medicine can not. Grieving is very tiring physically, and after a day of struggling to distract yourself from sadness while at work, to come home to a meal that someone made for you because they care, well, it could be liver and onions but it would taste like prime rib. We all live in an area that is full of warm caring people who need to express their sorrow in whatever way they can and we are all very lucky.

Finally, we must mention with sincere gratitude the many memorials people have created to our precious girl. The Amherst Soccer Club has petitioned the school board to name one of the new soccer fields in memory of McKayla, the MV Recreation committee contributed all proceeds from the Spring Gala Fun Run to go to KK’s fund to be used for the benefit of MV kids, AMS will have a McKayla Geisinger Music Award, the MV Village school created an area in the bird garden for McKayla’s memory, trees have been planted all around in her memory, moments of silence at school events, school programs dedicated to our little girl, bake sales, lemonade stands, prayer cards, all of this and more is more than our humble family can comprehend. We are so proud of our McKayla.

On the morning that Maureen dropped KK off at the bus leaving for camp, she told me how proud she was of KK and that “she was really going to go places”. In our long lives, we can only hope to make an impact on people, in KK’s short life, she did.

**Thank you so much my friend. The prayers are the only things that have helped us move forward … although I am starting to feel like I am moving backwards … Life is just so very hard without our beautiful girl. **

Greg and I had to work so hard to have kids … surgeries, infertility treatment … Amanda was a triplet and KK a twin … and only the two girls survived the pregnancies … Our road has been so long and when we finally got them, we didn’t want to let them go … they knew they were loved every minute of the day … and now we have no choice but to let her go.

I felt peace at St Benedicts… I pray that you feel a little peace tonight also…

Thank you … I find peace when I visit her … still haven’t dreamt about her yet … but I know I will!

God is GOOD!

God is so good … you are right …I just wish he gave us more of an indication that KK was sick … she was so healthy and beautiful. I remember … Mandy was such a good baby and people would say – oh watch out – your next one will be a terror. KK was even better than Amanda! It just isn’t fear … so many other abused children would love to be in heaven … but instead our precious girl is gone. I just don’t get it …

Thank you Moe

As always,

Sonja

Moe,
Still praying here. I try to pray every day for your. How are your feelings right now? I agree with you that mourning naturally is much better than spacing out on a lot of pills, but are you taking anything like Valium to help cope? Just curious.
We love you.

Hi Moe,

The letter from Greg was beautiful. I was just telling Darren… How hard it must have been for him to compose it… God bless his broken heart. How proud you must be of him and McKayla. What a beautiful family you must be… so much support and love in your community - it is truly beautiful Moe. It shows me how precious your McKayla was - and how loved she must have been and still is in your little town. Absolutey beautiful!

Well, i have bad news. I was also told years ago that i could ‘probably’ never conceive… Proved them wrong and had my Braden at 37 and have been desperately trying to give Braden a sibling. Going to the IVF clinic for ovulation tracking, etc… (medication to help me ovulate this cycle for the first time) and it didn’t work obviously and yesterday i was told that i am in the early stage of menopause and will not be able to give my son a brother or sister, it looks like i have no eggs…??? Last cycle was 59 days… March cycle was perfect he said… no problem and now… menopause! I DON’T understand? I am devastated, we are both heartbroken. Braden wanted to know why i was crying ‘again’ and i told him the truth - mummy and daddy can’t give you a brother or sister… He asked why not and said that he wanted a brother or sister and that he is not happy that he can’t have one, all the other children at playgroup have…that broke my heart. God bless my little angel… I have had this black cloud over me all week… and i don’t feel that it will go… Where is that rock? I will find a big one so you to join me if you feel the need…

Waiting for my gyno to ring over the weekend as he didn’t get a chance to yesterday afternoon…and when i rang i was a mess and his receptionist told me he took my file home along with other files and is planning on ringing some of his patients over the weekend…

I am a lost cause and i feel… i cannot explain how i feel… like a failure… i cannot give my husband another child - i feel useless and want to find that big rock now! He is the BEST father Moe (apart from Greg and your daddy…) and a daughter (or another son like Braden) would have made him so happy. We have always both wanted 2 children, the perfect house and white picket fence etc… He wanted his daughter to look like me - isn’t that sweet? I have a shed FULL of girl clothes from before and during my last pregnancy when i miscarried…Pink sheets, blankets, you name it - i have it all ready to go…Last year i bought a beautiful pink angel photo album… i am stupid! I wish i never bought any of it… ** I am so, so sad …**

If you don’t hear from me, know you are in my heart and prayers Moe…

The submarine is going down, and when it comes back up again - i will write…

I love you too from the A.C.T. (Australian Capital Territory) - The capital of Australia - Canberra in other words…Where we are freezing…

As always,

Dearest Moe ❤️

I apologise for interrupting your post with my self absorbed pity again… I have just realised… and i should have pm’d you instead of blurting it all out there…😦 I will learn these things!

Thank you for your friendship, support, love and prayers for me. You have done it again Moe! I knew there was a reason why God sent me here.

The submarine is slowly on it’s way back up…

How did the Red Sox go? The Sea Eagles won, and it did put a tiny grin on my long face.

I pray that your week will be bearable. Is it Father’s Day in the US soon? I will say special prayers for your wonderful Greg. We have it in the first Sunday in September…

Take care my friend and God bless you, Greg and Amanda.❤️

BTW where is NH? I saw the beautiful mountains in McKayla’s site… absolutely glorious and probably freezing too…

As always,

I hope you can relax soon.

Moe,
I am praying for you and your family. Hope you know that we all love you. How are you doing? Are you visiting KK’s grave every day? Does it help to be near her in that way? How are Amanda and Greg doing?

Hi Moe,
Just checking in again letting you know you are all still in my prayers every day at daily Mass!

Hi Moe,
Just checking in again letting you know you are all still in my prayers every day at daily Mass!
I pray that God Blesses you greatly for keeping us in prayer and at your daily Mass. How I wish I could go to daily Mass … I try to get to at least two a week …

Grace and prayers are the only thing that is getting me through this …

I just went to visit her again today - watered her flowers and light her candle … I know she isn’t there - but as her mother it calms me to go and check on her … have done it every day for 13 years … hard to break the habit.

I am so lonely without her … we all our.

God Bless you! Loving you from NH Nordar!

Moe,
I am praying for you and your family. Hope you know that we all love you.

I FEEL SO BLESSED AND HONORED TO BE PART OF CAF AND ALL MY FRIENDS … I WOULDN’T BE HERE TODAY - WITHOUT PEOPLE FROM ACROSS THE WORLD PRAYING FOR US

How are you doing?

I WISH I COULD TELL YOU WE ARE DOING GREAT … BUT IT IS THE SAME … TAKING IT HOUR BY HOUR … THE GRIEF IS UNENDING … WE JUST MISS OUR BEAUTIFUL sAINT … 13 YEARS WE LIVED WITH HER AND CARED FOR HER EVERY NEED … DOESN’T SEEM POSSIBLE THAT SHE IS GONE (13 WEEKS YESTERDAY) … I MISS HOLDING OUR BEAUTIFUL BABY …

Are you visiting KK’s grave every day? Does it help to be near her in that way?

Yes, does that seem morbid? I love visiting her … sometimes twice a day … it is pretty warm her in NH so I need to keep checking her flowers …

How are Amanda and Greg doing?

They are doing the same … they keep a lot more busy than me … I have enough energy to get out of bed - get to work and come home … although I did take Amanda to her horse riding lessons … Greg is golfing with his Boss … and it was good to see Amanda so happy … we are in the process of redoing the barn and getting her a horse … It appears to be great therapy …

Hugs,

Hugs back at you Lissa and thank you for the love, prayers and concern … it means so much!!! Life is so sad 😦

Lissa

**Paul:

Thank you so much … prayers and grace is the only thing that is getting us all out of bed. Life will never be normal … I have met so many people who belong to this ‘club’ and they assure me that hope and happiness will return … but it is only time that will heal … time and of course friends, family and prayers.

Welcome, I hope you enjoy CAF … it is a blessing.

Peace be with you,

Moe**

**I can’t thank you enough for your love, concern and prayers … this is so hard Lori … the pain is constant … but I am offering it up … although it hasn’t diminished our missing her … she was perfection …

Greg is an amazing Man … so strong … he just amazes me … what is so wonderful he has said often since KK’s passing that he has never ever felt so closed to God as he does now … thanks be to God … but I am jealous … because I have always felt close to God … I see him in all that is happening around us … but I dont’ feel as close to him.

Perhaps it is my deep grief … not that Greg isn’t in grief … he is I assure you - there was no better Father on Earth than Greg — he absolutely dotted on his girls … he is a wonderful role model as a Father …

He held up pretty well (that we could see) during Father’s day - of course we tried to make it special … He took Amanda and her Best Friend Merrill Kayacking at a near by little river … and they worked on the barn. Monday (yesterday was 13 weeks) and both of us had a little melt down … just missing her … our lives were for our girls… we worked so desperately to have them … I am sure God knows what he is doing … no kids could be more loved than our girls … kids would give their right arms to be loved like we loved them … but I must trust in the Lord and his decisions … I must accept his will - don’t like it … but it is just so lonely without our KK.

God peace and love and please keep storming heaven for us … God’s Grace is certainly among us … I just have trouble understanding him though … not a day went by that both our girls ever felt unloved … they knew it.

Loving you from NH …

Moe**
