Truth be told, Psychotheosophy, I couldn’t say it more clearly than that. I imagine that you were attempting to cause me to clarify my own thinking. Putting something into words does help clarify ideas when the words fall into the right places. 👍

I colored your statement about Jesus being “freely detached from all material satisfaction.” Jesus is the Teacher, the Master, the Beloved.
Yes, I’m trying to clarify what you are thinking, including your term “material satisfaction.”

Even though you believe that,
Jesus freely detached from all material satisfaction.
Doesn’t freedom diminish when material needs are not satisfied?
To be detached doesn’t necessarily mean one has to give up all material possessions but to be ready to at any given time. Sometimes we think we’re detached from material things, then God presents us with a surprise and actually removes something or someone from our lives or deprives us of something we enjoyed or depended on. Then we are forced to learn detachment. It is better, IMHO, to “detach” along the way of life, as we do in Lent, by sacrificing or giving up various pleasures for the sake of the Kingdom. We can join with Jesus’ GREAT SACRIFICE making us, little by little, more profitable servants and always ready for God’s great adventures. 🙂
God removes things we need,
Then disregards the free will he gave us,
By forcing us to detach?

Sounds more like communism than Catholicism.

God doesn’t force us. Through natural laws that have been in effect since the fall of Adam and Eve, pain, suffering, natural disasters HAPPEN, but we can offer the suffering we experience and unite it with Jesus’ ultimate suffering–that opened Heaven for us–to win souls for Christ (as the evil one tries to win them for his minions). We have the FREE WILL to use what befalls us for good or bad.

Apparently,
My post #18,
Was correct in clarifying 4’s thoughts,
But incorrect in truth.

From a psychological standpoint,

If freedom diminishes when material needs are not satisfied.
And,
If detachment from material needs being satisfied,
Is a constant attitude of willing to give up material needs being satisfied.

Then,
…We can join with Jesus’ GREAT SACRIFICE making us, little by little, more profitable servants and always ready for God’s great adventures. 🙂
Detachment from material needs begin satisfied (as part of “material satisfaction”)
Could be an effective way,
To little by little,
Brain wash people into a willing of giving up freedom,
Even if their material needs continue to be satisfied.

Is this true?

Speaking in contradictions is the mark of deception.

Just finished reading In The Heart of The Desert: the Spirituality of the Desert Fathers and Mothers. Chnaged how I thought about “happiness” and “suffering”. Some of their sayings made me think that could be living here in the USA.

How does suffering and weakness lead to Perfect Happiness?
Suffering, the experience of evil, can help lead us to the rejection of evil and to embrace the ultimate good, which is God. This is the reason for our sojourn here on earth-to come to learn for ourselves the value of the Supreme Good and of His will-something Adam & Eve missed.

Could you tell me some of the sayings?

Huh? Am I from another planet?? How am I “speaking in contradictions?”

How can willing, spiritual “detachment” from material things “brainwash people” into a willingness to give up freedom? We’re talking apples and oranges here! 🤷

I’m glad you agree that contradictions have nothing to do with God or Truth.

Because, as human beings,
We are not simply spiritual beings (nor was Jesus),
We are also material beings with material needs.

For example,
Sleep deprivation leaves us more prone to sin,
And so then,
Offering up suffering becomes more difficult.

Sleep deprivation is also used as a brainwashing technique (e.g. cults).

Since there is no posted disagreement,
Let me continue…

Since,
…Sleep deprivation leaves us more prone to sin,…
It is the principle of sin avoidance (Love),
Which judges need.

Sorry it took me so long to respond back, lent the book to my sister, stopped by there tonight, she wouldn’t let me have it back yet!! LOL Got to chuckle over that, after all, I’m the one who “left” the church, she stayed,as she says, its a good thing to go to church, to teach her daughter about the good in people, but she doesn’t believe in the bible, and now she won’t let me have the book back!! All I have to say to that is AMEN!!. Give me a week, she’ll be done with the book, and if she still won’t let me have it back, thats perfectly fine, I’ll get another.

I can wait :).

If I may ask,
How is it that you “left” the church?
It sound like you left and didn’t leave the church.

So,
We do not give our obedience to evil,
We give to others,
Giving precedence to the Principle of Love (God).
So,

Seeking Love involves sacrifice and suffering,
And,
Love = Happiness
Then,
Seeking Happiness involves sacrifice and suffering.

The more perfect Happiness,
Is Happiness even in the midst of sacrifice and suffering.
To which all people are naturally attracted.

Therefore,

Perfect Happiness,
Overcomes sacrifice, suffering, and every kind of evil,
When they unite.

We can not make ourselves, or others, perfectly happy.
So,
Humility is a must.

But since,…
So,

Seeking Love involves sacrifice and suffering,

Love = Happiness
Then,
Seeking Happiness involves sacrifice and suffering.

The more perfect Happiness,
Is Happiness even in the midst of sacrifice and suffering.
To which all people are naturally attracted.

Perfect Happiness,
Overcomes sacrifice, suffering, and every kind of evil,
When they unite.
Then,

Finding Happiness in our suffering
Can help others in,
Finding Happiness in their suffering.

In regard to detachment…

People are like houses,
Detachment is the emptying of the house.
Making room and welcoming Happiness to enter,
Turning lack of happiness into complete Happiness.

Houses come in many sizes.
Some can be filled with more Happiness than others,
But all houses can be filled completely with Happiness.

And,

As in friendship,
As the Lord (Happiness) enters our house,
We enter the House of the Lord.

And,

A good friend will always be willing to visit his friend,
Even if fierce weather deters.
The Good Friend will always help.

…The Good Friend will always help.
Happiness first drew us,
To freely choose Happiness over unhappiness (Life over death, Good over evil).

So that,

Happiness empties and enters our house,
With our freely given cooperation.

We can not make ourselves, or others, perfectly happy.
So,
Humility is a must.
To have Perfect (Complete) Happiness…

We must give,
Every nook and cranny of our house,
To Perfect Happiness and not imperfect happiness.

To enter the nooks and crannies,
Of the House of Perfect Happiness.

This requires,
A bold and daring,
Faith and cooperation,
From ourselves and those who support us.

Love = Happiness
Love involves sacrifice,
Through Love’s sacrifice
Do we realize Love and Happiness.

And it grows within us,
And between us.
