Suicide, where is the line?

If you’re going to argue that “suicide” should be defined so that responsibility rather than intention is what matters, then almost everyone is committing suicide. I have no doubt that every donut you eat reduces you life span by some margin. Every time you go out in the sunlight you’re bombarding your skin with radiation, so that weakens you in the long run. And let’s not forget the atmosphere! If you aren’t living out in the middle of the wilderness, you’re exposing yourself to pollution that will reduce your lifespan.

Everyone is suicidal by your definition, except for perhaps infants who die before they can be responsible for anything.

People who do not wear the seat belt and die in a crash can be guilty of their death at some point.

People who die of lung cancer and smoked their entire life commit suicide.

People who die because of eating too much fast food.

Up to what point are we reponsable of our health?

I am hurting myself by eating artificial food, with artificial flavours, colorants, smells, conservants.

Should we care about eating healthy? Or will God assume these are hard times and said: " you ate what you could"

We should do everything possible for survaival, for conserving this life God gave us.

If your job is dangerous quit it, if your way back home is dangerous move to another place–
I think that this…
Every time you go out in the sunlight you’re bombarding your skin with radiation, so that weakens you in the long run. And let’s not forget the atmosphere! If you aren’t living out in the middle of the wilderness, you’re exposing yourself to pollution that will reduce your lifespan.

Everyone is suicidal by your definition–
…is a logical response.

I dont know if you read the title of the thread, it has a question mark.

And yet on this post…
The intention is not the main thing here, but responsability is.
…you are certainly making a claim, not asking a question. Again, if you think “suicide” should be defined without intentions in mind, then everyone who is competent enough to be responsible for their actions could be considered suicidal.

A definition that broad seems pointless to me, because in almost every case, “suicide” would become synonymous with “death”.

You are quoting my words out of context.

Obviously that if a guy suffering down sindrome accidentaly kills himself, he is not responsable.

I am asking a question.

People that know that drugs, alcohol, cigarrets, fast food, etc are bad for health and still do it, will be found accountable for their death in some way.

But anywyas, who knows, its for God to decide. We must protect the life he has given us, if someone does not, in any way, hurting their body, poisoning it, etc. that person will be responsable in a way.

But yea, there is a big difference between that and deliberetly killing yourself. Its not suicide, but its still wrong to not act responsably regarding the life God has given you.
