Let’s say I commit suicide. What would God do? Would I go to hell (as I assume)?
Your mental state at the time is a consideration I would hope is taken into account.Let’s say I commit suicide. What would God do? Would I go to hell (as I assume)?
IndeedYour mental state at the time is a consideration I would hope is taken into account.
What if it’s pre-meditated? The “mental state” factor precludes consideration that the suicidal person may be sufficiently cognizant of the act being committed. Ergo, overdoses almost always fail but other methods, when pre-meditated and carefully planned ahead of time, do succeed. What else besides mental state?Your mental state at the time is a consideration I would hope is taken into account.
Either way it depends upon mental state. Impaired or otherwise. What if it’s pre-meditated? By whom? You do not make this clear. You would be treat just like any murderer.
i would hope you are not actually considering it…Let’s say I commit suicide. What would God do? Would I go to hell (as I assume)?
Those were my thoughts as well. I just did not feel as if I should verbalize that, but now you made me realize that I have a moral obligation to verbalize it.i would hope you are not actually considering it…
First off, like others have said, I REALLY hope you aren’t considering this IRL, and this post is a cry for help. If it is, please seek help immediately from someone.Let’s say I commit suicide. What would God do? Would I go to hell (as I assume)?
I’ve felt the same way. Then I realized everything is the result of God’s will, and His will never fails and with His plans for me, neither will I.I’m just wondering. I wouldn’t dare do it. I would, but I believe in God and I fear the consequences. I’m just fed up with things. I’m not suicidal, but I’m wishing for something else.
I don’t know.
The very fact you say you would but dont dare to, is worrying Makarios. It’s pefectly normal to feel fed up, want a change, feel a bit jaded with it all, but that’s always a passing phase, and usually something will happen to lift one out of this phase… everyone exoeriences this kind of things several times in a lifetime, it’s normal. But if the phase is extended, and appears to have no relief, would you consider talking to someone? A spouse, family member, counseller, even drop someone here a pm, or drop me a pm if you like. Either way, just know having a feeling of being fed up is perfectly normal, even if things seem to be going well. But if you want to talk to someone, please do, rather than feel you’re on your own.I’m just wondering. I wouldn’t dare do it. I would, but I believe in God and I fear the consequences. I’m just fed up with things. I’m not suicidal, but I’m wishing for something else.
I don’t know.
Then please forgive me the light-hearted tone of my answer. I saw the “RCIA-bound” under your name and assumed it was a “research” type question.I’m just wondering. I wouldn’t dare do it. I would, but I believe in God and I fear the consequences. I’m just fed up with things. I’m not suicidal, but I’m wishing for something else.

I disagree. That’s basically saying that nobody can ever be held responsible for committing sucide so it’s never a sin. Being upset or sad over something, like being found out in some sort of white-collar crime or something, does not constitute an “excuse” for suicide. Sometimes people determine rationally that it is easier to end their lives than to face the future. Cowardice is not mental illness.I hold the view that suicide is a fundamentally irrational act, and thus is unlikely to be committed by someone entirely in their right mind.
praying for you, life may be dealing you a bad hand, but you should pray for God’s helpI’m just wondering. I wouldn’t dare do it. I would, but I believe in God and I fear the consequences. I’m just fed up with things. I’m not suicidal, but I’m wishing for something else.
I don’t know.

To the OP-
I did this because I feel you need to talk to someone now.
