Summit Fight Shakes Europe

BRUSSELS, June 18 - Something shattered in Europe on Friday night.

The leaders of the 25 European Union nations went home after a failed two-day summit meeting in anger and in shame, as domestic politics and national interests defeated lofty notions of sacrifice and solidarity for the benefit of all.

Depends on one’s view I suppose.
 
The EU is dangerous. Look at Europe’s highly nationalistic history. When people thought everything was great- that they had transcended the concept of war, the bloodiest war the world had ever seen broke out- World War I- then 20 years later World War II surpassed it. The EU is forcing unity where it does not exist- I expect Europe will pay for that dearly.
