"Reports from different sources suggest that ill-intentioned people within the highest ranks of the Holy See wish to use the clarification document on Summorum Pontificum as a Trojan Horse, emptying the motu proprio of all its content, especially regarding Parish Priests and other members of the diocesan clergy (see e.g. Messa in Latino). This is a dangerous, clear, and credible threat. We must pray, indeed, but all priests and lay faithful must act. All Catholic faithful must send urgent and respectful letters to the Holy Father, the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, the Secretariat of State, the Pontifical Commission ‘Ecclesia Dei’, and other authorities, asking the Holy Father and curial authorities to defend the clear letter of the motu proprio that gave us freedom and thanking once again the Holy Father for the gift that was Summorum Pontificum, including references to the personal improvement brought to one’s Catholic life and family by the wider availability of the Traditional liturgy. With all due respect to the Rorate Coeli this article is below standard
  • no details just insinuation
  • ask for political style canvassing the Roman Curia; the Church is not democracy

How is collegiality not like a democracy?
The collegiality is only with the bishops, not with everyone.

In the Aristotelian terms
  • good form = monarchy - aristocracy - constitutional rule
  • bad forms = tyranny - oligarchy - democracy/anarchy
the collegiality is the form between the monarchy and aristocracy.

Maybe in theory, but in actuality collegiality has damaged greatly the image of the non-democratic Church. Was it nothe French Bishops Assembly who accused Pope Benedict of not being bin commion with them?

OLPH,
I am not quite sure what your point is in posting this.
Do you have a question or comment?

I am also not sure why you are putting any stock into a blog post.
This is someone’s opinion- there is no documentation that proves any of this.

If you want to learn more about your faith, I humbly suggest that you look to official sources for your information.
The Holy See and the USCCB are very good places to start.
You might also want to check out your diocesean website, it usually contains a wealth of information on educational opportunities for your area.

Peace be with you on your journey.

Thank you for the links, I have them in my Favorites.

I have learned a lot from blogs so far. Father Z’s I read daily. I posted this particular blog post as it was requesting action from those who attend the Latin Mass, namely to write to the Vatican in favour of SP. I would be very disappointed is the Latin Masses were cancelled before I have the opportunity to experince one. I can only imagine the heartbreak those who love the Mass would feel if they could no longer attend one. So, it was out of charity to my fellow Catholics that I posted that blog, to answer your question. If you have any other links you think would help me in my learning process I will be very appreciative.

My opinion is that the collegiality is something good, despite the fact that some people or groups abused the world against the Church.

For the full truth there is also a third immanent source of the actual interpretation of the revelation: pope + college of bishops + consensus fidelium.

Re; the bolded parts.
That makes perfect sense, now.
Just a thought for the next time,
maybe a couple of words from you as to why you are posting something
may help to avoid misunderstandings & confusion.🙂

Regarding the blogs-
I too read Fr. Z’s blog, occaisionally. As well as some local “traditional” blogs.
The one thing that I urge you to remember is that blogs only contain one side of an issue (for the most part), and we have to remember that they are opinion, not fact.
I also find that some bloggers have a very interesting way of “spinning” things that take comments and texts out of the context in which they were written. This can be very dangerous for someone who may not be very educated in their faith.

Great post Oneofthewomen.

There is another important thing to remember. There is a protocol when writing letters to the hierarchy. You first contact the priest involved, then the bishop, then the papal nuncio, then the Vatican. You do not skip levels and go straight to the Vatican.

I’m certainly glad to see those who don’t consider themselves traditional take it upon themselves to judge those who do.

“traditional” ?

What part of orthodox Catholicism indicates one should judge those with a certain Catholic spirituality in that manner ?

If one feels the traditionalist has strayed, would it not be good to leave God as the judge of it ?

Would you care to explain what you are talking about and to whom? 🤷

If anyone hears any specifics, would you post them, or the link. It is hard to defend against anything vague. All Catholic should support the actions of our Holy Father whether it is our cup of tea or not.

As far as I can tell, the SP has been under attack since the day it was published. And it has been ignored by some as well.

Nothing new.

Sure, I’m referring to the self righteous among us.
I am sorry, but I see no one being “self-righteous”.

If you are referring to me using quotes around the word traditional, it was not meant to be disrespectful, that is actually how the blog I was referring to identifies itself.

Also, I have never seen a definition of what a traditional catholic is.
I may not be a devotee of the TLM, but that does not mean I am not traditional.

So, At Trent, what exactly is you beef?!🤷

Definitions ?

“Indeed, the true friends of the people are neither revolutionaries, nor innovators: they are traditionalists.”
Pope St. Pius X

“Even if Catholics faithful to Tradition are reduced to a hand
ful, they are the ones who are the true Church of Jesus Christ.
St. Athanasius

Forgot to add, with all of the never ending arrows shot at trads on this forum, by those who have a beef with their target, my comments are more like a reply in that context.

It’s not a one way street, no matter how much those who initiate the attacks wish it were.

You know, I do have a beef with groups like Call To Action. But I don’t go into their foums and taunt them. Better to pray for them, and, if I’m wrong about them, God will ignore my prayers.
