Thank you so much, dear friend for sharing such an interesting piece of Early Church
history with us all. I bring no charges against you for doing so…sounds like our other friends who have been “so charitable” in their responses, have other “axes to grind” with the One True Church. Don’t be discouraged, it just means that you are being persecuted for “righteousness’ sake”…(Jesus’ words in the sermon on the mount-they can look it up themselves-do you think they know it’s in the Gospel?🙂
Regarding your thoughtful question, I’m not aware of any other denominations that celebrate the Sabbath on Saturday except the Jewish people. Wasn’t that established by God Himself in the Ten Commandments? Forgive my ignorance on the matter.
I prefer going to Holy Mass on Sundays, rather than the Vigil Mass on Saturday, myself.
Sorry I couldn’t be of much help:o God Bless you for your faithfulness!
I dont see anyone disputing the church father Justin on this topic.
🤷

Lujack, I never even thought of taking credit for myself. I don’t think like that. I only wanted to share some stories with others. That’s it. I am tired of explaining myself.
Well, I think it would be better for you to make clear when something isn’t your own work. Its good etiquette, it helps direct people to someone who may be an interesting author, and it prevents any misunderstandings of plagiarism.

It also doesn’t seem right for you to be so defensive here; most internet forums I’ve been a part of don’t take kindly at all to plagiarism.

So, according to you, if a catholic commits a wrong, um, lets say steals someone elses work and passes it off as their own, when others correct her and chastise her, she is being persecuted for righteousness’ sake

Wow. It gets better and better …
“Understand through silence-act in silence-conquer in silence”… and this is a quote from who***?.. you?*** Please be more careful to make that clear, next time:)
God Bless!

You have no dispute with an early Church Father, Saint Justin Martyr? Please explain what the dispute would be, you lost me. Thanks and God Bless!

“…it is for the living, rather to be here dedicated to the unfinished work which they have thus far so nobly advanced…”*
I wasn’t sure if you were so dedicated to the etiquette you prescribe for others by leaving this quote unnamed. I should like to be directed to the “noble person” who advanced it, unless it was your “unfinished work”.🙂 God Bless!

Thank you so much for this wonderful and understanding post. Like I said to Guyonthestreet when he told me I was condemned for taking a few paragraphs from something that EVERYONE has done here but cannot admit it. I told him Jesus was condemned to and only God can judge me. He is the one who is a sarcastic, troublemaker and we all know this about him. God bless you.

I will defend myself against accusations that I “stole” someone else’s stories when I did no such thing Enough is enough

You plagiarised two authors work in two seperate threads. It’s been pointed out to you by many people what you did was wrong. As a catholic you seem to think you can do no wrong, simply by virtue of the fact you are part of the catholic church. But even that I’m not so sure about as you doubt some of your own churchs teachings such as on the Orthodox.

Let’s hear your defence. 👍

My question then is this, why do Protestants celebrate Saturday as the day of rest when this is clear evidence that Sunday was the day of rest?
Maybe some do and others don’t? At least this is what a Baptist friend of mine said. Please clear up for me…
Virtually all Christians celebrate the Lord’s Day, Sunday. SDA’s, and the Herbert W. Armstrong folks are the only ones that I know of that maintain a Saturday sabboth. They do so, I would think, in response to Old Testament law.

…Um, still waiting for yours…"understand in silence…???:tiphat:

…And Catholics* aren’t* perfect, but they* are* a **“perfect work in progress” **thanks to the holy sacraments instituted by Jesus, through the Holy Catholic Church that He founded on the"Rock" of Peter! You’re welcome to come and join us.🙂

I was speaking to OTCA, not you

Tell you what, while we’re waiting to hear her defence, oh, and while she’s at it, for the 10th time of asking, where does it say in scriptures, as she claims, that Jesus was ‘‘produced’’ to lead the jews to the gentiles, how about you give your sister a call 👍

Are you* really* interested in her defense? It seems to me (and perhaps it’s obvious to others on this thread), that you are more interested in harassing her.
I have an idea…why don’t you take a chill pill:snowing: and say a prayer for her? Or maybe we could just “conquer in silence”…to coin a phrase-unless someone else already did.😛

Harrassing  Erm, well, if someone claims something is in scripture, how is it harrassing someone to ask them to point out where it is in scripture.

Mind you, asking 10 times and still not getting an answer I’m forced to conclude she’s wrong  Which is even more confusing, as I was led to believe that when one was a catholic they just instinctively knew everything. I mean, after all, OTCA loves to tell everyone that the catholic church gave the world the bible, so it’s reasonable to assume she would know what’s in it

Oh, yeah, you can quote my signature anytime 👍 Feel free.

You’re both in one of my 5,000 denominational 33,000 doctrinally different prayers 😉

I am still waiting for your apology for ***-uming I was wrong in my written copyright from my church bulletin. And yes, I reported you for harrassment…:coffeeread:

Guess I didn’t understand the topic of the thread. 🤷
Unsubscribed.

I was with you until you posted that snide remark.

You don’t need to stoop to such lows. OTCA has a problem with stealing others’ work. OTCA’s continually stealing work that belongs to others is behavior that “tells on” itself. Once you’ve pointed out the theft, we can figure out the rest. 🙂

I appreciate your pointing out the many times OTCA has presented other’s work as her own. There is some good in this. The stuff she steals is very interesting.

Hmmm. I was going to say that I appreciate her posting the info, but if we accept her offerings here, are we in receipt of stolen goods? ;)😃

OTCA, why are you so obstinate? You’re supposed to give a source if you’re using someone else’s work. Why don’t you do that? Are you attempting to mislead others into thinking that the work is your own? Even if you can’t be bothered to name the author, at least use quotation marks. Is there a reason that you refuse to follow the rules?
