Even though their theology is out of whack, people can learn from their devotion to this belief, which they actually lived out. Today, most Christians do not treat Sunday as a holy day. That is a shame.:o

In Christ,
Andrew
Many individual catholics have a lot to learn about what it means to be christian from non catholics, heck even non christians, it seems to me. 👍

Oh you are just soooo sweet, OTCA. Come on, get back to the topic and stop acting so sophomoric.

Sunday was designated as the day of rest for Christians, but this didn’t really occur until Christianity and Judaism moved further apart. When I was very young, my family was a part of the Armstrong church (Worldwide Church of God) and they had church services on Saturdays. Even though their theology is out of whack, people can learn from their devotion to this belief, which they actually lived out. Today, most Christians do not treat Sunday as a holy day. That is a shame.:o

Harpazo, I,m not trying to be disrespectful with you but may I ask a question if not just do not answer Okay, what is a Orthodox Catechumen

… so he just looks like a fool…
I know Jesus was born of the Virgin Mary, and I also know why He came on earth

Some catholics don’t even know that, can you believe it  😛

Oh, and I also know about the history of the catholic church as written by the catholic church, I know about Orthodoxy, I know the catholic church does not pronounce anyone in hell, I know that Luther did not renumber the ten commandments and I can cite original sources 👍

I can also bake, play the guitar and piano, fly a bomber and I have a cycling proficiency badge 😉

Hey, brother, aren’t you going to comment on the OP? Do you worship on Saturdays or Sundays? What’s a ‘believer in God’ think about the Church’s tradition on this matter? Haven’t we all been blessed to have this freedom of religion, to worship whenever we choose? Isn’t our God an awesome God to have given us such a marvelous privilege to “know, love and serve Him in this life, and to be happy with Him forever in the next?”(Baltimore Catechism of the Catholic Church)

Its to bads that you have to waite to die B4 you will learn the truth abuot Our Lord Jesus Christ
Huh  Why do I have to wait to die

Sounds like a judgement to me there Bill and you know you ain’t supposed to do that - naughty

An Orthodox Catechumen is one who is studying and preparing to become an Orthodox Christian. Hope that answers your quesiton. 🙂

In Christ,
Andrew

Thank You for your time and your answer and may Our Lord blless You.

Oh right. So is it also a fact that you will have to wait to die to know the truth about Our Lord Jesus Christ? Or is it just me? 🤷
Well I,m saved now and I hope I can keep working it out by fear ttrembling. 1cor10’11-12 working to the end matt24:13 .

So you are saying I’m not saved now and have to wait until I die to know the truth about our Lord Jesus Christ. But you are saved now.

So you’ve made a judgement on my salvation.

But you haven’t judged me

Pliny the Younger:

They asserted, however, that the sum and substance of their fault or error had been that they were accustomed to meet on a fixed day before dawn and sing responsively a hymn to Christ as to a god, and to bind themselves by oath, not to some crime, but not to commit fraud, theft, or adultery, not falsify their trust, nor to refuse to return a trust when called upon to do so. When this was over, it was their custom to depart and to assemble again to partake of food–but ordinary and innocent food. Even this, they affirmed, they had ceased to do after my edict by which, in accordance with your instructions, I had forbidden political associations. Accordingly, I judged it all the more necessary to find out what the truth was by torturing two female slaves who were called deaconesses. But I discovered nothing else but depraved, excessive superstition.

Ex. 20:8Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.

9Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:

10But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:

11For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

12Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.

Who appoints on which day has more importance?

Is the rising of Christ unimportant?

also I would like to add that Sabbath means 7 in Hebrew. So He rested on the seventh day. The number 7 seems to be very significant in the bible. In Revelation it is used extensively, Christ said he’d forgive 70X7 and very coincidental that Luther removed 7 books from the bible.
