Would it been a nice way of genuflecting and trying to be in the world, than of the world? Sure, it would’ve been nice. I understand and get that.I thought it was disrespectful.
Couldn’t take them off for two minutes ?
I can totally relate to people wearing sunglasses outside.Anyone relate ?
I’m happy to make sacrifices of all kinds during Lent and throughout the year. But risking permanent eye damage is not, in my opinion, a licit form of sacrifice.I won’t even bother to say, who, with healthy eyes,
would give them up for lent !

No.Anyone relate ?
You’re being quite outrageous.
What if the temperature was 10 below zero fahrenheit and Mass is outside for some reason? Should people not wear hats and gloves?
Sometimes there have to be limits, right? Let’s face it, those outdoor huge Masses- - with the paper cups and the jumbotron? Why?Usually either because there are too many people for an indoor event and it’s in a stadium (like the Pope celebrating Mass in a giant sports stadium) or because of extenuating circumstances (an Army chaplain celebrating Mass on a jeep in VietNam)…
