Strange that people weren’t watching because of the anthem. This is still America. NFL players have the freedom not to stand. It’s called First amendment rights. And all this time I thought it was something our service men and women were fighting to protect for us.

I don’t need to tell my son who is in the Marines and my daughter in the Navy that Sy Noe said their service allows NFL players to kneel. They knew that and neither of them cared whether plays took a knee.

But it is hypocritical of the NFL to say they don’t want to get political when they won’t accept an ad from a veteran’s group because it’s message said “please stand,” but allows plays to give their own political message.

And that is why my daughter didnt watch, because she doesn’t stand for hypocrisy. My son on the other hand was on duty at the time.

My favorite commercial is the Alice Cooper one. Always loved “School’s Out”.

I wish my visits to the ATM were half as exciting as that ad.

TisBearself, how was your night? Saw the chaos in Philly on the news this morning. Disgusting, stupid reactions by some fans, at that hotel, and flipping a car on its side. For the life of me, I cannot understand how that is “celebrating.”

I’m 30 miles out of the city. We had a crowd of 1000 people here that was shown going nuts on the news last night, but they seem to have stayed pretty peaceful, probably because the entire local police force was down there keeping an eye on them. I experience much more disturbance on the average Friday and Saturday nights. I decided to stay in because today is a work day for me and I had to get up early to take one of the cats to the vet.

Not surprised there was a little disturbance in Philadelphia, as I was told by multiple long-time residents that this always happens after big games. I think the police probably contained it to be much less than expected to be honest. They seem to have gotten the huge crowd from Broad Street dispersed pretty quickly last night. Looked like everybody went to the sporting goods stores to buy t-shirts and jerseys for parade day.

I thought the best commercials were the ones for Tide detergent.

The worst was the T-Mobile commercial with the babies. Their target demographic are young adults so I wasn’t happy to see the way in which that demographic was pandered to.

That T-Mobile one we sat there wondering what the product was til the end. Not very effective IIn my opinion. I too, liked the Tide ads.

And people have a right to refuse business with an organization that publicly supports it’s players disrespecting the country and it’s citizens. Freedom of speech simply means the government can’t do a thing, but just because someone I find someone verbally annoying doesn’t mean I have to hang with them.

I watched it. Great game. I loved seeing Tom Brady get ploughed. But it was the only NFL game I watched this season (mainly because of the NFL constantly bringing in politics - I’m glad there was no politics at the Superbowl).

None of them really stood out to me. I did get laugh at the doritos one with Peter Dinklage.

Movie ads & Tide were good but I think this year is all right but you would be horrified to know I’m looking forward to :cowboy_hat_face: show.

Some of the commercials were good (that is better than the normal run of the mill spots), but I don’t think it up to the standard of past years.

The game, however…Wow, just excellent!

There is truth to this… but at the same time, companies are people. You don’t think any of the people making decisions in companies around the world are sincere in their corporate donation choices?

I shudder to think what went through the minds of the creators and producers of most of those ads. A brick, a waterfall, a ski resort… Quick, what product was the ad about?

Stranger Things star David Harbour must be very popular right now.

If kneeling is disrespectful, we shall certainly have to agree to disagree on what is truly disrespectful.
