Stranger Things star David Harbour must be very popular right now.
Yes, I was surprised that he was in nearly every ad. I’ve never seen the show, so I don’t know what the fuss is about.

(Please Note: This uploaded content is no longer available.)

You know he appeared in Revolutionary Road aka controversial movie about abortion.

I don’t mind the inspirational ones, but yes, the funny ones are what people watch for.

Forgot to mention the M&M ad with Danny DeVito. Oh my gosh, that was good too.
The M&M was my favorite.

It didn’t watch all of them, though. I started watching, paused the game, then had dinner. I skipped over half-time.

Though I’m not watching the SB, the big game promo for Solo: A Star Wars Story is online. Full trailer tomorrow.
Looking forward to this.

They’re going to get decades of movies out of this franchise.

I thought the Tide commercials were good, especially the very first one. Very different for a detergent, I thought.
I didn’t care much for those.

When the first one came on, I did not “get it” until the end. I did not understand that the actor was saying “this is a Tide ad”

I was thinking “tie ad?” or “tied dad?” whatever is he saying? The words were no coming across clearly enough.

After a while, I did get tire of the whole “this ad is not what you think it is” theme (several of them did that). I’ve never really thought that that advertising theme was very appealing. It’s an old trick; not very original.

My little sister is a pediatrician. The Hyundai ad was her favorite.
The one where they take people aside from the security line and show them the videos?

I didn’t like that. I felt it was putting those people in an unfair position. People get scared when they are pulled aside by security nowadays. Security is necessary, but it should not be used as a tool of the advertising industry.

I have objections to using law-enforcement to make people involuntary participants in someone else’s advertising. (Even if they do consent after the fact, which I’m sure happened).

I mean, I wouldn’t want my state troopers to start pulling over highway drivers only to tell them:

“Sir, do you know why I pulled you over?”

“Well Trooper, I was going about 2 miles over, but…”

“Guess what? it’s your lucky day! I pulled you over to let you know that if you trade-in your car now, you’ll get a special manufacturer’s rebate because you’re a loyal owner and your vehicle is 4 years old this month!”

No thank you. I don’t want to live in that kind of society.

I’m not. They (The Evil Empire) will milk this franchise until it’s dry.

I’d buy a bag of Doritos if they promised not to do that again. So yeah, maybe it was effective.

I thought the Tide commercials were good, especially the very first one. Very different for a detergent, I thought.
Me too. And the beer commercials with Chris Pratt and the Jeep commercial with Jeff Goldblum were pretty good too

They seem to have gotten the huge crowd from Broad Street dispersed pretty quickly last night. Looked like everybody went to the sporting goods stores to buy t-shirts and jerseys for parade day.
Yeah, the Dicks Sporting Goods store in Plymouth Meeting had a line outside, going a good ways down the shopping center.

But I really didn’t like the Amazon commercial. I had to mute that one because my 6 year old was watching the game.

It’s a real fail when they make commercials that are not at least PG rated. And the flavored Coke commercial was very strange.

TisBearself, how was your night? Saw the chaos in Philly on the news this morning. Disgusting, stupid reactions by some fans, at that hotel, and flipping a car on its side. For the life of me, I cannot understand how that is “celebrating.”
I live in the Philly burbs… it really wasn’t as bad as the national news is letting on.

There were TONS of celebrations going on all over the region, in almost every town. I live 22 miles from Center City, 4 miles to the city limits, and I heard fireworks.

I would NOT be supprised if there were hundreds of thousands celebrating all over the region last night.

Where the damage happened was in downtown, Center City Philadelphia. I would imagine that most (if not all) of the people who did damage don’t live in Philadelphia.

There are a number of college aged people in the burbs or rural areas who are Philadelphia sports fans, but have ZERO love or respect for the City of Philadelphia. There also could have been legit criminals & and anarchists who were using this as an excuse to do anarchy.

However, I was flipping though the local news stations until past 2AM. The OVERWHELMING majority of people were celebrating peacefully. 99% were fine, but 1% can ruin it for everyone.
