Prohibition should be a good example of why change is not always good. And that what change is wanted should be carefully considered. Not just rushed into just because.27 Amendments for a country of millions, a country whose age is 300 years is mind blowingly slim considering how much has changed in this country. You wouldn’t want it to have 100’s of amendments but you’d think the Constitution would reflect some of the passage of time!
Besides, SCOTUS has done a fabulou job of changing the Constitution without anyone having to dirty their hands with actually changing the text.
