“I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.”
Wow, so now God only smiles upon those who agree with you? All the rest are sinners?

We can’t disagree anymore, we have to demonize everyone who dares to think differently.

The hyperbole on this thread is unreal.

We need 51 seats in the Senate. We don’t even need the White House. And the Senate cannot filibuster a reconcilliation vote.
So the assumption is that Romney would sign a repeal of Obamacare? Well, if he gets elected and if you get those 51 seats, just pray he doesn’t do a ‘Roberts’ on ya.

I can partially agree with you here. Perhaps we aren’t hitting them the right way?

It’s complex. I do believe that, with research, we can find a way to get the tenets of prevention across.

The US could look to other nations and see what they are doing right and perhaps learn from this.
It’s not about information dissemination. Everyone knows the basics, they just don’t implement them in their lives. It’s easier to watch TV than go for a walk/run in heat or inclement weather. It’s less satisfying to eat a salad with light dressing than a double bacon cheeseburger. Etc…

This is part of what really bothers me about the decision. Roberts classifies the individual mandate as a tax and puts that forward as the only reason it wasn’t struck down. And yet, nowhere in the bill is the word “tax” ever mentioned.

To me, it doesn’t seem like it would be the SCOTUS’s job to re-articulate the legislation in such a way as to make it constitutional. 🤷

Don’t worry, God will smile on you too when you also repent.

We know that Obama would veto 😉

Good point

You can question whether Romney would this or that that he has promised, but him signing a repeal of ObamaTax, I have full faith in

As Romeny strides across the field, looks at the sun and sees the cross emblazoned upon it!!

:crossrc::gopray2::gopray::rolleyes:

The Supreme Court Ruling on Health Care is a victory for the people. It will be a stepping stone in attaining Universal Health Care.

Hyperbole in this forum!? I would never have imagined it in a million, billion years!

😉

I think a lot of us are emotional in light of the fact that this just happened. I think hyperbole goes hand-in-hand with that. :o

Decades ago was Lyndon Johnson promising to end poverty. How has that worked out? 😉
What does that have to do with charitable organizations being unable to foot the medical bills of uninsured people? We aren’t talking fancy cars or houses for the poor - we’re talking basic medical care that could be way, way cheaper than it presently is. The only question is whether we as a society care enough to make things right. That’s really all it amounts to. The rest is just static.

QED. Because Obamacare is designed to fail, not to solve any health care issues, those who supported Obamacare and assured us that it was just what the country needed will be back with a demand for more coercion when it inevitably fails to accomplish its goals.

Or we could just repeal it and end the charade.
