Sabotaged by the pro-lifers again. No discussion is complete by saying everyone for Obama is evil without regard to his other policies.
I know. Pesky Bishops. What are they thinking??
First, ACA allows use of federal funds to pay for elective abortions and for plans that cover such abortions, contradicting longstanding federal policy. The risk we identified in this area has already materialized, particularly in the initial approval by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) of “high risk” insurance pools that would have covered abortion.

The right to life is the basis for all other rights. It is astounding to me that many people choose to ignore this fact.
Many people know that its time to move on because electing a president can not overturn a Supreme Court decision. Face it, the conservatives are praying on your zealous ignorance.

Does the other pro-death penalty and war party justify your vote because they save unborn life? It’s not just one issue. Stop using “babies” its incorrect and sensational.
The right to life is common to all human beings, regardless of age. The appealing thing about babies, though, is that they don’t talk back or make demands…

Too bad that those who preceded him passed on the chance to “actually fix the problems”. At least he gets credit for getting off his…
Code:
The only thing I credit the Commissar for is his unquenchable thirst for state power. Do you lefties really value other people's freedoms? I wonder.
Do you realize that Bush was actually constrained by respect for the co-equal branches of government? Remember, Bush never had 60 votes in the Senate, and even some of his fellow Republicans (Specter, Snowe, etc.) opposed his initiatives. Of course, Bush never thought of himself with dictatorial powers. Rob

With all due respect, the Bishops and the Holy Father have said many times that the life issues trump all the other social issues. Which makes sense. I can’t get “free” health care if I have been aborted/euthanized.

I just saw a video of Romney in 2006 speaking in favor of mandates as important for driving health care costs down. Now he’s opposed to them. Similarly, Obama argued against government-mandated health care coverage in the 2008 primary debates with Hillary Clinton, who supported it. Both these men are either two-faced flip-floppers, “evolvers,” or simply politicians who will say virtually anything to get elected (or re-elected). I would choose all of the above and place no great trust in either one.

Most people recognize the difference between charity and weasling out of it too.
But we already agreed that there is not enough charity so nobody is surprised by weasling.

The question before us is whether or not weasling is a criminal act. Socialists say “yes”. Christians say “no”.
BTW, if you don’t believe that the decision does not reflect the judges’ social views/ideologies, I have a bridge in Alaska you might be interested in…
Well, it was certainly the case that the four liberal justices’ votes were predetermined by their ideological love of big government. But I’m not convinced that Roberts made his decision that way, as wrong as I think it was.

Left out the death penalty did you? The wars are less than the previous president. Fetus, embryo not “baby”.
More mental gymnastics.

The death penalty is allowed in narrow circumstances. I suggest you read your Catechism.

Also, over 1 million babies are murdered, and 100 people are excuted under the death penalty (and they at least have due process). It is 3rd grade math to see which is a greater evil.

Preying 😉

I will never stop fighting for life.

Pretty much. However as of 2012, one of them is vowing to uphold this atrocious law and the other is vowing to repeal it. I don’t like my options but I’ll take my chances.

You didn’t answer the question, did you? I can certainly understand why. Some things are difficult to justify.

In the presidential election, we have one candidate who promises to keep the law, and another who had a similar law in his state and supported the law before and now promises to repeal it, so obviously he’s lying.

In other words, there is no choice for the voters.

So totalitarianism wins for another 4 years.

The answer is more complex than you like to make it. I understand that all or nothing thinking is easier for people to handle.

States have the right to experiment with socialized medicine under federalism. The federal goverment does not (or should not). Abortions will drop by x on day 1 of a Romney administration. That alone should tell you how to vote.

You should know better to get a straight answer Bubba.

With the rhetoric some people on the left throw around in this thread, you’d think people are dying in the streets en masse because they don’t have health insurance/proper health care.
