👍

Not to mention that it’s going to something necessary for the common good. Unlike money/subsidies going to…say…highly profitable oil companies - something which I likewise am unable to do anything about.
Yes, now we can direct subsidies to the highly profitable healthcare industry.

I read that Justice Roberts voted in favor of the Medicaid expansion part of the law, while Justices Breyer and Kagan voted against the Medicaid expansion. Why do you suppose this is? It is also rumored that Justice Roberts may have switched his vote concerning the mandate late in the deliberations, being initially in favor of striking down the mandate. Might his reason for doing this be politically motivated?

Does this ruling have the effect of forcing financial responsibility on those without coverage who use emergency rooms as their primary care physicians?

I doubt it. They can still elect not to buy health insurance. And if they don’t pay taxes, the IRS will never get an opportunity to levy the “fine” or tax, as the case may be.

OK, we now need to do two things. First, we need to elect Romney and overturn obamacare, which might be easier than you think. Second, congress must pass an amendment to undo the damage that Roberts has done, because this is not just about healthcare anymore.

It’s ironic that people thought you couldn’t get a president worse than Bush. You could even cut the hatred in the air with a knife. I would rather have Bush, with all his faults, than the guy we have now.

Actually there are six Catholic Justices:

Sotomayor
Scalia
Thomas
Roberts
Kennedy
Alito
Didn’t you read through all 900+ posts? LOL I had pointed that out a couple of hundred posts earlier. Thomas has had a lot of twists and turns, however, with respect to his religious beliefs.

I was noticing that myself–I think it would be a record, a thread being closed for hitting 1000 posts in less than 24 hours!
No the Trayvon Martin thread (s), disturbingly went much faster. I think it was up to 3000 or so before the final thread was closed.

Did one of them attain 1000 posts in less than 24 hours?

To be honest, I wouldn’t be surprised… that was a F&F topic for sure!
