…or, of course, you could choose to only sell wedding cakes through your church, or other churches who shared your beliefs.

If I knew I was going to be hassled or put into an objectionable position, yes. Which is why I suggested, in another post, that such a business owner might want to work using a rented kitchen facility instead of a storefront and with a word-of-mouth clientele.

Honestly, though this should not be an issue. I am sure if the White House can light up in a rainbow, Facebook and big business show support, there must be a zillion bakeries in this country who would bake a cake for a ssm. Why bother the ones that aren’t interested in doing gay weddings?

Not sure if it was discussed in the other thread (and don’t feel like reading all of it), but it should be noted how coordinated the response to this decision was. That same night, MULTIPLE locations were lit up in rainbow colors, including the White House, Cinderella’s castle at Disney, and others.

It is simply impossible at this is just coincidence. And it is also impossible for this to be done by all these places in one day. They had time to prepare and coordinate the response. Someone on the SC leaked the decision to them early for the propaganda benefits.

Very good point.

Maybe, but I don’t think that’s the only possibility. We’re talking about screwing colored light bulbs into already placed sockets. That doesn’t seem taxing. It certainly doesn’t seem to ipso facto warrant a conclusion that the SCOTUS ruling was leaked.

And it’s not like every political an legal expert in the country accurately predicted the outcome months in advance.

I think that everybody already knew what the decision would be. I was so certain.

How is it impossible? Everyone knew this decision was coming at the end of June. Everyone suspected it would be a 5-4 decision with Kennedy writing the majority opinion. June is LGBT pride month. It’s not like it would be difficult to have lighting set up and then merely flip a switch.

Not necessarily. The bishops were also very prompt in issuing their statements.

It’s just like selling super bowl shirts right after the big game. You prepare for either outcome. And then once the outcome is known, you know what to do.

Im sure the White house had crosses, stars and crescents prepared to go on display had the ruling gone in the other direction…😃

😃 Yeah, not so much. I’m guessing they would have simply not turned the lights on. 😛

Disneyland and the White House just happened to have rainbow colored light bulbs on hand? Obviously, there was some pre-planning involved.

Not necessarily. Many people saw this decision coming, and not due to any “leaks.” It seemed pretty obvious to me.

LGBT prode month is federally recognized? If not, then why would it be celebrated at the white house?

When I’ve been at Disneyland, it was fairly obvious that the lighting was via tri colored lights, maybe LED, maybe incandescent, so it takes maybe a few minutes to program whatever color sequence you want.

Blessings,

Big flood lights like that don’t have simply bulbs you can buy at Walmart. They are a specialty item. And it probably wasn’t the bulb changed, but the cover over the light. But even those are special-order. They have to be extremely heat resistant AND handle sudden cooling from rain and sprinklers. Normal plastic would shatter.

Why wouldn’t they have access to colored bulbs? Do they not have a Home Depot in DC or Orlando? And for that matter, both locations have lighting specialists – it’s their job to have a multitude of bulbs on hand. Your assumption sounds unnecessarily conspiratorial.

I get that some are speculating as to whether or not certain institutions may have known the outcome beforehand, but I don’t see how that makes any difference so I don’t understand the point.
