many are strickened with extreme poverty, some have gone thru persecution and are seeking asylum, some are refugees.
This is quite true but the people who fit this description are a small percentage of the illegals who are here.
If you think that helping those who are in need makes them special and are getting preferential treatment, then, perhaps, you are correct.
Most illegals are not in need; they come here to make more money than they could make at home. Over half of the illegals are Mexicans and Mexico is an upper middle class country with the world’s thirteenth highest GDP. If you were describing Haitians or Guatemalans you might have a point but your description of illegals as desperate refugees is quite inaccurate.
No they are not taking away jobs from teenagers and our citizens. How many teenagers do you know would want to work at farms?
The belief that most illegals do farm work is another myth. A huge number of illegal males work in the building trades - and that assuredly does take jobs away from local workers. A year or two ago McDonald’s announced they would be hiring 60,000 new workers nationwide. One million people applied for those jobs. With over 8% of our population unemployed can anyone seriously believe that illegals (about 6% of the total) aren’t taking jobs that those here legally won’t take? There may be valid reasons to support illegals … but the reasons you have so far cited aren’t among them.

Bold Lettering Mine:
Now we got Obama care! Wheeeee! Now we have the HHS Mandate! Double Whee!
First off, I want to quickly make an accurate correction on my stance on this issue. The Affordable Care Act(ACA) is a 👍 but the HHS Mandate is :tsktsk:
criminals, terrorists, drug smugglers, gang bangers, and human traffickers
You are painting inaccurate description of undocumented immigrants.
I have no love for Republicans* in general*. However, at this point, I will vote for most of them (pro -Life ones.) The democrats, as I heard on the Catholic Radio channel, is the “Party of Death” IMHO, at this juncture.

They talk about the War on Women by Republicans, but ignore their very own War on Life and War on Freedoms and War on Religion.
I think it’s critical that we differentiate between issues whether they be political, economic, social and the people that hold them and the proper way to vent anger and frustration. One point of reference as a Christian is the teaching that we must love the sinner but not the sins. Correct me if I am wrong but in your comments you tend to direct your anger and blame towards people. 🤷 Also, being a pro life, in my opinion, should not only support opposition to the legalization of abortion but also must oppose to war and capital punishment, support environmental care and protection, and it should extend to mean helping the poor, caring for the sick, and being there for people who need you.🙂

On other note: The 9/11 terrorists? How is this an immigration issue? Their agenda is not economic. They came to kill people.

Oops! This isn’t the right thread to discuss what Michael Voris has thought of Obamacare. Sorry!

A nation that fails to secure its borders ceases to be a nation.
Really? Would you suggest barbed wire fences, plowed strips, and machine gun towers between, say, New York State and Quebec to deter IBCs for us to continue as a nation? 🤷

Are you suggesting we maintain loose borders so illegal immigrants can easily violate our laws by crossing over unimpeded? Be realistic: our largest problem involving illegal immigration lies with our southern border. Nobody is suggesting machine gun nests, moats, etc. Simply toughen up border security and make everyone go through the legal immigration process. If you don’t like our immigration laws, lobby Congress and change the laws.

I am not comfortable with the provision they did uphold. i can not see any way this provision will not focus on Hispanics. My sister-in-law is Hispanic and she and my brother travel extensively. They refuse to drive through Arizona because of this provision and I dont blame them

If your sister-in-law is here legally then she has nothing whatever to worry about and it is a great disservice to her and others to suggest otherwise. Even if she is illegal, so long as neither she nor your brother violate any laws she will never be stopped or detained. It is simply irrational for people who are in the US legally to worry about getting into trouble in Arizona.

I’m not so sure about that. They should at least wait until Sheriff Joe is gone to be safe.

If ppl are here legally they have no reason to worry… Hopefully Sheriff Joe will be around for a long time.

To me, this sounds like the same platitude used when the PATRIOT act was passed: If people aren’t terrorists, then they have no need to worry [about loss of civil liberties or invasions of privacy]. The intrusion of government into the private lives of citizens is the camel’s nose in the tent.

Government intrusion is not a Republican value, and yet Republicans support so much that should be cut from the budget as waste and overreach.

Whatever you believe about the Patriot Act is irrelevant to the facts regarding the Arizona law. People may not be randomly stopped. People who are stopped will be required to identify themselves. (So far this is exactly like it is in every other state.) People who don’t have valid identification with them showing they are in the country legally will be required to provide such identification. That’s pretty much it. I was once detained by the police in New Jersey because the person in who’s car I was riding was legally stopped and didn’t have his driver’s license. This is the way the law has worked for generations. What is the source of the panic over Arizona’s law?
