The web has made it easier than ever before to access information on Devil-worshipping and the occult, experts said.

Exorcism is the subject of a six-day conference being held this week at the Regina Apostolorum Pontifical University in Rome, which is under the Vatican’s authority.

“The internet makes it much easier than in the past to find information about Satanism,” said Carlo Climati, a member of the university who specialises in the dangers posed to young people by Satanism.

Satanists don’t worship Satan. Satanists don’t even BELEIVE in Satan, or God for that matter. Devil worshipers do, Luciferians do, THEISTIC Satanists do…they should probably understand this better if they want to fight against it.

That is the technical definition, yes. But trust me, I have studied Satanism extensively and spoken with MANY Satanists. True Satanism is a philosophy that follows what they call the Left Hand Path, which is a belief in personal liberty and happiness as long as no-one is harmed in the process. They see the biblical Satan as the archetype of personal freedom, as a sort of hero. Their only god is themselves.

That’s not to say that there aren’t actual devil worshipers, but true Satanism is actually grossly misunderstood. It’s hard to find a Satanist who believes in Satan.

This article talked about practitioners of the occult in general as well, not just people who are specifically praying to Lucifer, so arguing about the particular label of Satanism doesn’t make a difference to the message behind this story.

That’s my biggest complains about the internet. It appears to NORMALIZE certain interests and behaviors, which otherwise would go unindulged. It provides people with a platform where they can meet people of similar interests and feel like they’re not alone, which in some cases, they absolutely SHOULD feel alone. Are you sexually aroused by seeing videos of women pouring honey on their feet? There is a website for you where you can find at least 00 other people who like the same thing. In the old days, these people would just forget about these deviant interests and move on with their lives, but now, they can find comfort in the fact that there are 3 or 4 other people in Iceland who like exactly the same thing.

Have you ever heard the saying, “Old Wine, New Bottles”? This is exactly what this represents. Satanism throughout the ages has changed its face, but remains essentially the same. It represents indulgence, vengeance, or anything else that is directly opposed to the tenets of Christianity. You are correct in stating that there are many forms of Satanism, but the root of it is always the same, and that is, it has Satan as it source. Now, Satan is a real creature, regardless what some certain Satanist sect believes him to be, such as simply a metaphor for evil. No Satanist will ever be able to successfully mask what Satan truly is–man’s enemy. He is a the father of lies and a murderer from the beginning, as we are told. Don’t buy into the belief that they do not harm anybody. If you are a Satanist, try to leave your coven, and then you’ll see just how harmless they could be. At the end, whether you are Wiccan, Theistic Satanist, or any other Left Hand Path believer, the one that will be awaiting you is he, whose ancient echo we hear in the deepest part of our psyche, “I will not serve”!
