Father help our Christian brothers and sisters in areas dangerous to Christianity, and keep them safe. Father forgive and convert those who martyr and persecute the people of Your Son’s Church. Please help this injured priest to recovery.

Aside from the crazy Saracens, Hindu extremists are also responsible for a lot of Christian murders in India.

Orissa: Hindu extremists burn one nun alive, rape another

Bubaneshwar (AsiaNews) – A Catholic nun was burnt alive by a group of Hindu fundamentalists who stormed the orphanage she ran in the district of Bargarh (Orissa), this according to Police Superintendent Ashok Biswall. A priest who was at the orphanage was also badly hurt and is now being treated in hospital for multiple burns. Another nun from Bubaneshwar’s Social Centre was gang raped by groups of Hindu extremists before the building housing the facility was set on fire. Sources also told AsiaNews that elsewhere one priest was wounded and two other were abducted. The list of violent anti-Christian acts is thus getting longer. For the past two days the state of Orissa (north-east India) has been racked by violence following the assassination of radical Hindu leader Swami Laxanananda Saraswati.
Churches, community and pastoral centres, convents and orphanages have been attacked yesterday and today by mobs shouting “Kill the Christians; destroy their institutions.”

I can only picture Satan bathing with glee in these fires of hate and destruction. Pray for all those involved, both victims and perpetrators. This simply shows that the age of martyrs is still not over.
Prayers & blessings
Deacon Ed B

I pray that God spills his Divine Mercy upon all those involved in perpetrating this deplorable crime of hate. May the martyred souls receive your tender touch Lord as you welcome them into your kingdom. Fill the hearts of all religious and faithful living this horror with your love, peace and hope. Strengthen their resolve to continue to serve you so that you may always be glorified.

Amen.

Wow, I think priests and religious in these type of nations should carry a firearm or something to defend themselves in these instances.

They gang raped a nun and burned another alive, I understand that God allows people to be martyred but how could he allow a nun to be gang raped?

How very very sad:( many prayers are needed, for the nuns and priests in those areas and for the ones doing the killings.

The revenge of the goa inquisition and the oppression of the Hindu people. Injustices of the past always haunt a people. We were wrong in the past they are wrong now. 200 years from now I wonder if we will be burning their temples all over agian.

Just for the record let me state that I’m Hindu and I do not belong to any extremist groups. And I belong to the same location as the riots have been going on. Also I strongly condemn the attacks on the people in the state.

I came across this forum and saw the topic in discussion and felt like you have been gravely misinformed. So must type in a response.

So here it goes, Before jumping into any conclusion and condemnation let’s first look at the facts and take some time to understand them.

There is always a reason; Everything happens for a reason, 100 thousand people don’t just come onto the street despite shoot at site orders to kill and burn (as for the attempted rape story it’s not related to this violence and is weeks old and was the act of one single pervert)

If you ask me frankly who is to be be blamed for this atrocities My answer would be greed. As many of you, who have been following the story must know by now: the problem started when alleged Maoist (that is communist extremists) about 30 of them gunned down a Hindu priest along with 4 of his disciples. This priest “Swami Laxmanananda Saraswati” was 84 years old and instead of what this says he was a holy man and one of the most prominent social workers of the state. All he ever did was taught simple life and built schools.

Now then if he was such a revered man why would anybody want to kill him? The initial reports that Maoist killed him are no longer in existence and as far as my logic goes they had no reason to do so. 4 people who ran Christian missionaries have been detained (names not yet disclosed and for good reason).

Now it must bewildering/shocking news to you as to why people who ran the church would conspire to kill? (assuming that they did, they may not have: I’m not here to draw any conclusions) what could they possible gain by killing a 84 year old priest. How about a vast amount of money.

Let me explain- the only reason these small missionaries work in this reote part of the world is that a vast amount of money comes in as charitable gesture for the welfare of the newly converted poor tribal people here and it may surprise you that most of these poor catholics (tribals) don’t even get half a days meal out of these funds (you can see the visuals and state of their houses) so someone is becoming rich on their expense and on charity money. Who could it be that is for you to find out after all its your money.

So what? Some people got rich while converting tribals why would they want to kill the Hindu priest? One more notable thing: most of this tribals don’t really realise the difference between Jesus and Satan for them who ever feeds them and gives them medicine is as good as Jesus. As the Swami ran a few missionaries(Hindu) of his own and was definitely was against the exploitation/ lured conversion (call it what you want) he was definitely biting into their funding. Reason enough to kill I’m sure.

So what happens now that this has become a International news and so many people are concerned including the pope. More funds will come in to these ground level missionaries to help the affected families and for their treatment as far as the people who run this small missionaries it a win-win situation.

My comments were not against any person/organisation/religion but my feelings as to why we all should feel responsible for this catastrophe.

Pls also see this BBC news
Two people were burnt to death in Tiangia village in the district after rioters set fire to their houses last night.

One person had been burnt to death at Rupagaon village on Sunday night.
Arson and burning of Christian religious places continued on Tuesday in Kandhamal despite a curfew in all major towns and prohibitory orders in force throughout the district.
Even a Flag March by paramilitary forces did not deter the rioters, who went on a rampage setting fire to churches, vehicles and government facilities.
Meanwhile, it has been revealed that the woman who was burnt to death in an orphanage in Bargarh district yesterday was a Hindu.
“We have verified the antecedents of the woman and found that she was a Hindu,” Sambalpur DIG YB Khurania said.
Initial reports had suggested that she was a nun.

Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta, pray for us.

Hail Mary,
Full of Grace,
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit
of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of our death.
Amen

St. Michael the Archangel,
defend us in battle.
Be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the Devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray,
and do thou,
O Prince of the heavenly hosts,
by the power of God,
thrust into hell Satan,
and all the evil spirits,
who prowl about the world
seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

It is a lot easier for the perpetrators if we ALL feel responsible, isn’t it?

That way, those who ARE responsible will not be singled out.

This is the way many news outlets, including the BBC, almost invariably approach any story dealing with Christian persecution.

The problem with this approach is that the news ends up not really being reported.

Nice try! making excuse for such horrific crimes is not gonna cut it!

“those who ARE responsible will not be singled out” they will not be that is the tragedy of capitalism. All that will happen is that few innocent people from both communities will end up dead and a few more will be made made scapegoats. While the real masterminds will end up more rich and more powerful.

I’m not here to justify anyone.

I’m only trying to bridge the cultural gap that divides us.

Here is a link (Identity crisis) please go through it
