Switching Rites in emergency

In times of emergency ( like this ) where the Mass is no longer available at the parish of one’s preferred rite, can you go to the Mass of another rite without sin, because one is not doing it for fun, but in time of emergency? Like a Roman Rite person attending a Divine Liturgy because Latin Mass has been shut down.
 
I am canonically a Latin, sometimes I go to a Melkite church, there’s nothing wrong with that. And some of the members of the Melkite parish, are canonically Latin!
 
Seeking a mass now risks your life and the life of everyone else there. Have you not studied the virus?

It is SRS business.
 
Huh? What? No it doesn’t. Not even the worst alarmists are claiming that. The only risk for the vast majority of people is that of spreading it to the more vulnerable, not actually succumbing to it. The mean age of victims who have actually died from this thing is 80. Hardly representative of “everyone there.”
 
Anyone able-bodied and younger than 40 is at practically no personal risk whatsoever.
 
Who told you this? You can be carrying it right now - transmissible to the elderly and immune compromised. Is that a good thing? Rather, watch the epic videos made by this British doctor on a daily basis.

I don’t know what you mean. I just watched the whole thing and the fatality rates that he listed echoed the only point I made. This disease targets people who are old or have one of a long list of health issues, not the able-bodied under 40.

Every age bracket has a death rate!

How much risk of death is acceptable so that you can have your communion on demand? “On demand” - sounds like a cable show.

Maybe you should observe the request of your bishop and pray at home. Or are you intent on spreading the virus?
 
A previously healthy 21 year old football coach in Spain just died from it on Monday. It can cause complications. You’re not safe if you’re under 40.
It’s death rate is about 30 times higher than the normal flu, and it’s twice as virulent. Have you not seen what is happening in Italy?
Well that could easily be the US without immediate action.
 
Let’s tell that to my daughter’s 22-year-old “healthy” coworker who’s on a ventilator with it right now.

Too many people are taking this too lightly. Stay home

Seconded. His videos are excellent and the one from 17 March 2020 re: reducing fever, good or bad, is particularly so.

 
Can we please just answer the OP’s question and not turn every thread into a debate over whether one should venture out of the house or not?

OP, any Catholic may go to the service of any Catholic Church in communion with Rome at any time. The list of Catholic Churches is here under “List of Churches in full communion”:


Please be aware that many of the Eastern Catholic Churches have also suspended services for public health reasons.

It is not the case that there is practically no risk for younger people. There is still some risk of lung or other organ damage.

For example, according to recent news, in the Netherlands half of patients in intensive care are under 50.
