The West attempted to rectify this at the weekend by backing the formation of a new FSA command structure at a meeting in Turkey. Its new leadership, which sidelines former commanders such as Gen Mustafa al-Sheikh and Col Riad al-Assad, includes senior figures without a regime background. Many are linked to the Muslim Brotherhood or even more radical Salafi movements, but are thought to be men with whom the West “can do business”.
There you have it ! America working with Islamic radicals who are driving Christians out of Syria.

Obama: U.S. Recognizes Syrian Opposition
President Barack Obama declared Syria’s main opposition group the sole “legitimate representative” of its country’s people Tuesday, deeming the move “a big step” in the international diplomatic efforts to end Syrian President Bashar Assad’s embattled regime.
<…>
Officials said the U.S. evolution in recognizing Syria’s opposition would closely mirror the process the administration took last year in Libya with its opposition.
“I would remind you of how this went in the Libya context where we were able to take progressive steps as the Libyan opposition themselves took steps to work with them, and to advance the way we dealt with them politically,” State Department
Yes, and we’ve all seen how well that worked out.

With this information from the Telegraph
The rise of Jabhat al-Nusra represents the Americans’ worst fear – they refused to arm the rebels earlier in the conflict to avoid weapons falling into the hands of jihadists, only to find that in their absence, jihadi groups well-funded by SUPPORTERS IN THE GULF have risen to prominence.
I would say this thoroughly justifies nations threatened by Wahhabist terrorism, to begin taking some form of military action against Saudi Arabia and Qatar.

Did I forget to mention that some of these Islamist fundamentalist factions, of which the FSA is mostly made up of (mostly non-Syrians), have called for an ethnic cleansing and Shariah Law within Syria?

Makes me question if we’re really “spreading democracy” over there…? 🤷

Right. Did you see “What about Bob.”

Baby steps, lol.

Seriously, I have a very very bad feeling about Syria and the rest of the middle East . . . Iran and atomic explosions and the like. A very bad feeling.
