Brothers and Sisters:

I’ve been holding this back, but because of rumors on both sides of the divide have decided to “Come clean” with as much news as I could without clouding the issue.

Please follow the link to THE MESSENGER and then download the Word Document linked from the MESSENGER article:

10th May 2008
From the Primate of the
Traditional Anglican Communion

*This letter was used earlier this year in an Appeal to both our own Traditional Anglican Communion people and Roman Catholic people in several countries who have shown interest in helping us. It has since been published in other places, although seemingly not in full. It contains brief quotations from the Traditional Anglican Communion’s letter to the Holy See (the original letter runs to some eleven pages). The Traditional Anglican Communion will not be releasing the full text until the response of the Holy See has been received, in accordance with a commitment given by the three delegates who handed the letter to the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith. The Primate has released this text in order to obviate any confusion arising from its partial distribution. He has also expressed the hope that the last page, where he appeals for support, might receive as much attention as the rest.

Please use the link to go to the Word Document - There’s one picture which will cheer many here who prayed for the recovery of Bishop Rodriquez of Guatamala (a photo of Bishop Rodriguez speaking on behalf of the appeal to Rome).

If you can’t get to the Word Document, This document has most of the same details without the pretty pictures:

****Who knows? Maybe it was seeing his name on the Prayer Requests Forum here and all of the Catholics praying for his recovery that gave him the push…

**Facts Regarding the TAC’s Request for “Unity with Rome”

**
We’re now awaiting replies and instructions from the Vatican. The entire letter that was given to the Vatican will be published. At that point, we’ll have a copy linked here.

Please keep us, and this, in your prayers,

Your Brother in Christ, Michael

Thanks be to God!!

I think this may be yesterday’s news if the accomodation apparently reached within the Anglican church with African/third world bisops pans out. A sub-church w/in Anglicanism for the orthodox seems the best option by far for the TAC. Let us pray this pl;ays out and that the TAC can remain intact and in the Anglican communion.

The TAC are not part of the Anglican Communion though. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Traditional_Anglican_Communion

With this agreement I bet many will be willing to come home.
Rien:

The Anglican Communion isn’t Home - Rome is. I’m not prepared to argue that here, and I don’t think I should have to. The TAC and Rome have been involved in intense and delicate negotiations for most of the last 15 years. Those negotiations have even been the subject of at least 3 threads here during the past 4-1/2 years.

We in the TAC know why we left the Anglican Communion, and no “Accommodation” national bodies such as PECUSA/TEC aren’t required to implement/follow us going to bring us back into that body. I have no idea why anyone would want good Catholics to return to return to that when they could have UNION with God’s One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church and His Chief Representative here on earth.

Please pray for unity between ROME and the TAC as I asked. Thank you.

Your Brother in Christ, Michael

I would think that all the arrangements for the unity with the TAC and Rome must be reaching final completion by this time. This couldn’t happen at a better time; the infrastructure will be laid down by the TAC to welcome home their fellow Anglican now facing the gay and bishop scandals. I pray they are united as a Sui iuris Church.
