I like this quote a lot. I just need to trust much more in Him when tempted.

I really like your location Fatima Vision! I’m trying to live there too!

‘She was full of faith, and yet all her life long she had been tormented by thoughts against it. Nor did she once relax in the fidelity God asked of her. And so I regard her as one of the holiest souls I have ever met on this earth.’

St. Vincent de Paul, of St. Jeanne Frances de Chantal

Thanks for this quote from St. Vincent de Paul, Shin! St. Jeanne Frances de Chanta inspires me to imitate her holy soul, which was Christ like.🙂

Christ said, “I am the Truth”; he did not say “I am the custom.”

This quote really speaks to me. Iv’e more than likely been guilty of treating Jesus this way in my life more than I’d like to admit. We cannot just love God when its convenient for us, because that isn’t true love. I think this also speaks to people who feel that the Catholic Church needs to get with the times. And it also speaks to people who think that Christ can somehow not relate with our problems nowadays, because he walked among us in the flesh some 2,000 years ago. Jesus knows us infinitely better than we will ever know ourselves, and he is all times.

He is the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. Praise be to you Lord Jesus Christ, now and forever.

“Since our house is open to all, it receives the sick of every kind and condition; the crippled, the disabled, the lepers, mutes, the insane, paralytics, those suffering from scurvy, and those bearing the infirmities of old age, many children, and countless pilgrims and travelers whom we give fire, water, salt, and cooking utensils. We ask no payment for this from anyone, and yet Christ provides for all.”

“I have often been sorry for speaking, but never for holding my tongue.”

St Arsenius
I love St. Arsenius!

‘God knows how dearly I love you all; but I find I cannot be both with God and with men at the same time; nor can I think of leaving God to converse with men.’

St. Arsenius

A friend of mine said recently:
Can we stop “reacting” to everything? It seems everyone has an overly dramatic response in our day and age. What about a calm response and not wearing our feelings on our sleeves all the time?
Giving one’s opinions on every jot and tittle topic is a form of vanity, as if one’s opinion is quite important.
There’s so much of this.

‘We make no progress because we dwell in that exterior learning which puffs up the mind; but these illiterate Egyptians have a true sense of their own weakness, blindness, and insufficiency; and by that very thing they are qualified to labor successfully in the pursuit of virtue.’

St. Arsenius

‘God endures, to be bound in swaddling-clothes, because he had come to pay the debts of the whole world.’

St. Zeno

I have to be honest here and say that I really never heard of St Arsenius before, until I saw the quote that I posted above. I was watching EWTN for a brief moment, and I saw that quote posted, and I immediately came here and posted it.

“When you feel the assaults of passion and anger, then is the time to be silent as Jesus was silent in the midst of his ignominies and sufferings.”

St Paul Of The Cross

I really like this quote.

“Start by doing what is necessary, then do what is possible, and suddenly you are doing the impossible.”

Saint Francis Of Assisi

St. Teresa of the Andes and Blessed Margaret of Castello (in addition to Our Blessed Mother) are the two people I joyfully blame for bringing me into the Catholic Church. They are sisters, friends and Saints. 😛

I really like this quote. 🙂
Isn’t it lovely?

I read once that when we are willing to attempt the impossible for God and endure failure it is a very good thing. 😃

‘How is it that we do not die of love in seeing that God Himself could do no more than shed His divine blood for us drop by drop? When as man He was preparing for death, He made Himself our food in order to give us life. God becomes food, bread for his creatures. Is this not enough to make us die of love?’

St. Teresa of the Andes

‘Perfection of life consists in drawing close to God. Heaven is the possession of God. In heaven God is contemplated, adored, loved. But to attain heaven it’s necessary to be detached from what is earthly. What is the life of a Carmelite if not one of contemplating, adoring and loving God incessantly? And she, by being desirous for that heaven, distances herself from the world and tries to detach herself as much as possible from everything earthly.’

St. Teresa of the Andes

If you say the Rosary faithfully until death, I do assure you that, in spite of the gravity of your sins “you shall receive a never fading crown of glory.” Even if you are on the brink of damnation, even if you have one foot in hell, even if you have sold your soul to the devil as sorcerers do who practice black magic, and even if you are a heretic as obstinate as a devil, sooner or later you will be converted and will amend your life and save your soul, if-and mark well what I say-if you say the Holy Rosary devoutly every day until death for the purpose of knowing the truth and obtaining contrition and pardon for your sins.

**The Secret Of The Rosary

St. Louis De Montfort **

Mary is the flower of the field from whom arose the precious lily of the valley through whose birth the wounded nature that we inherited from our first parents is transformed and our sins blotted out. Eve mourned, Mary rejoiced. Eve bore tears in her womb, Mary bore joy, for Eve gave birth to sinners, Mary to the Innocent One. The mother of our race introduced punishment into the world, the Mother of our Lord brought salvation into the world. Eve was the author of sin, Mary the author of merit. By killing, Eve was an obstacle to us, by giving life, Mary was our helper. Eve wounded us, Mary healed us. Disobedience is replaced by obedience, faith compensates for unbelief. Mary’s canticle puts an end to the lamentations of Eve.
