Actually, first we were told that dissent is the highest form of patriotism. THEN we were told it’s a mental disorder, then treason.

I guess the definition of dissent varies depending on whether the Democrats or Republicans are in charge.
Of course.

Dissent? Is that what Mr. Tancredo was expressing in his comment that President Obama is a bigger threat than Al Qaida? I don’t think his comment expresses patriotism or treason. It’s not even a mental disorder. It’s just plain old political rhetoric masking as something profound. In actuality, it’s just ignorance. Add that one to your list.

Tancredo is absolutely correct! More people have been murdered by Obama than Al Qaida ever though of doing! The only difference is that Al Qaida kills the born while Obama kills the more innocent, the unborn!

It looks like he’s bringing our Country down, single-handedly…

but there’s a whole network behind him, and those he has put in place.

He was formed and groomed for the position.
Anyone who has to read from a teleprompter isn’t all that bright.

Tis true. Obama is a bigger threat than al-Qaida.

God Bless you.

Just so you know Dawn, he was formed (as were we all) by our Creator and Lord.

Maybe you’d like to list for us the politicians who weren’t at all groomed for politics (unless I’m mistaken, in 2008 this one was supposedly unprepared to be POTUS)

and…

who didn’t read from prepared speeches (I don’t suppose it takes less brains to read from a teleprompter than from a sheet of paper either).

As for comparing Obama to Al Qaida, none of my responses would be charitable enough so I’ll just say this: if those who consider themselves better than Obama have to stoop so low (to insult not just him but the electorate who put him in office), then let them be clear, moderates and independents most definitely don’t see them as a better choice - at least not the moderates and independents I know.

Who has Obama ever killed? Will you not cease spreading untruths? Did he invent abortion? Seriously, the pot is angry at the sooty kettle so it rolls in the mud?! How does that even begin to make sense?

It is also an insult: both to his listeners (they deserve better) and to the public at large. Just thought I’d add that one to the list…

Words like dissent imply: reason, logic, reasonableness and at least a modicum of respect (for self and for those one is disagreeing with)…in the anything goes political arena, the word dissent seems just too, shall we say, ‘refined’ for what passes as discourse these days. So it’s not that dissent is not allowed…it sometimes simply does not apply. It seems to be going the way of silk stockings and fedoras - many still admire them, precious few would actually sport them today.

I am a little disappointed that the obligatory “Bush was worse” post did not appear until post number 12. Usually we see it in the first four or five.
Well we sure don’t want to leave George out of the mix, after all he worked hard to get to where he was in the record books. 😉

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: you knew he had to eventually show up and be attacked, right?

This reminds me of the Clinton days, and the bumper stickers that said, “He’s not MY president.”

Tancredo’s statement (and the people who agree with it) just sounds like another way of saying that. Disowning the elected president of the US this way is like a big one-fingered bird thrown in the face of the electorate and the framers of the Constitution to boot. It’s like saying “We know better than all you idiots put together.”

To all who agree with Tancredo, I’d ask, would you prefer an unelected dictator?

The Colorado gubernatorial candidate Tom Tancredo says President Barack Obama is a bigger threat to the United States than al-Qaida or terrorism…Tancredo said that Obama posed a threat to the Constitution, saying: “It’s not al-Qaida, it’s the guy sitting in the White House”…
I suppose there are all sorts in this world

would you like some fries with that hyperbole Mr Tancredo?

How many people did Stalin kill?

So you and Bill Clinton agree:

You know the one thing that’s wrong with this country? Everyone gets a chance to have their fair say.” William J. Clinton, speech in Philadelphia PA City Hall courtyard 5/28/93

Doesn’t your comment fly in the face of the framers of the Constitution when they wrote the 1st Amendment? Aren’t you saying “I know better than all you idiots put together?”

Is that the best you can come up with? HA!
