Because it’s** BIG BIG **government when you want the government for instance to FORCE14 yr old (or younger children) to carry to term a pregnancy resulting from incestral rape.
So, is it
BIG BIG government when you want
the government for instance to FORCE a thief into jail?
Is it
BIG BIG government when you want
the government for instance to FORCE a murderer to sit in prison for life?
Is it
BIG BIG government when you want
the government for instance to FORCE a drunk driver to relinquish his driver license?
Why then do you think it
BIG BIG government when you want
the government for instance to FORCE someone not to murder an innocent human being?
Oh, wait. That’s right. Everyone has different opinions on when life begins. But apparently everyone has the same opinion on whether thieves should be punished, or murderers put in prison, or drunk drivers to give up their driving privileges.
Further, what did that unborn child do to deserve the death penalty? What crime did he/she commit?
You know, this gets old. You identify yourself as Catholic. The Catholic church clearly teaches that abortion, in all instances, is a grave, evil matter. You have even acknowledged that, and said you personally are opposed to abortion. Yet somehow you take offense at the notion of protecting the life of an innocent, unborn child.
You seem to be one of these “Well, I’m personally opposed to abortion, but who am I to force my beliefs on others.” How does that work for other situations?
“I’m personally opposed to slavery, but who am I to force my belief on others?”
“I’m personally opposed to rape, but who am I to force my belief on others?”
“I’m personally opposed to carjacking, but who am I to force my belief on others?”
I don’t know how you can honestly, and consistently, maintain such a position with regard to abortion, and not do the same with any other issue.
