Tea party wins in northeastern primaries could bode well for Democrats

I agree that the farmer’s voice should also be heard. But the recent tone has been more the arrogance of the uneducated, IMO. Also, notice that some of those bashing the so-called educated elites are not exactly poor farmers - Newt Gingrich for example. Ironic to hear a college professor and multi-millionaire bashing the educated elites.
There has been a study of this phenomena. The incompetent don’t even know they are. The people who really are competent don’t think that they are.
Go figure.

And it goes back even farther than that. All the way back to Socrates.
That is, the foolish think they are wise, and the wise know that they are foolish.
Or go back to the author of Jeremiah (4:22):
For My people are foolish, they know Me not; They are stupid children and have no understanding They are shrewd to do evil, but to do good they do not know.
Sadly, this problem will never go away. Those that think they are the best for the job despite what others tell them will continue to plague us (Murkowski comes to mind).

People all across the educational spectrum are arrogant. People are arrogant. People think the universe is aching to hear all about their trials, needs and wants. People think society owes them things because they are breathing. This mentality will lead us back to the Stone Age economically. I deal with this mindset every day. We have a society of brats. Don’t believe me? Stay tuned.

Insinuations my friend, nothing more. Let’s just say the intellectual arrogance is alive and well in some posts.

Before you go any further on her about mice and all that…maybe you should check the facts.

Anymore questions?
Yes, I do have questions. Your article stated that some scientist are inserting human cells into mice brains. The candidate states that there are mice with fully functioning human brains. There is a difference, imho.

I don’t see anti-intellectualism. What I see is rejection of the proposition that most Americans are too stupid to know what’s best for them and it takes an Ivy League education to govern.
Who said that?

The mice brains have active human brain cells in them. She may have just brushed through the article like most people would, said “Hmm, that’s wierd” and later one brought it up on a tv show and got laughed at. She was, for the most part right. I’ve done the same thing many times and realised later that I had misquoted an article I had read previously. I remember one instance talking about a bacteria that has some sort of petroleum by product or something or another…see I still cant remember exactly what it was, but it was interesting and I could probably find it if you would like.

Splitting hairs in my opinion.

This principle was also versed into a ballad by the ever-wise minstrel Michael McDonald of the Doobie Brothers. And I quote:

“What a fool believes, he sees. And no wise man has the power to reason it away.”

There were lyrics to that song? I always thought he was just gargling.

The Tea Party isn’t a party. The “Tea Party favorites” have run as Republicans, and then backed away from their more controversial statements once they won a primary. The result of the Tea Party appears to be to the possible election of, at most, a few legislators on the right wing of the Republican establishment. Hardly revolutionary.

It could be like this:

Obama hoodwinked liberals and centrists with talk of hope and change, without any specifics.

The Tea Party candidates are hoodwinking conservatives with equally vauge talk of change, small government, etc., without any specifics or chance of being an effective voice in the government. As with most “small government” rhetoric in the Republican party, they lack the political clout and will to cut spending, and simply continue with irresponsible tax cuts to fund their campaigns.
Very adroit viewpoint all around!! I agree wholeheartedly…

But I can’t help but wonder if the Tea Party people…if they all get elected will just climb in bed with the very sheeples in DC they complain about and reap the bennies of office, or will they actually reduce the size of the government to say…the size it was when Clinton left office?
The result: the establishment wins again. That’s ok, in my book, because I’m not all that unhappy with the establishment, although the divisiveness is harming the establishment’s ability to solve the nation’s relatively straightforward problems. It is a shame that people offer false hope to people to win elections.
Forgive my cynicism but when it comes to “politicians”…I just can’t help it. This country has been without much in the way of leadership for years now…and to me it seems that most elections give us the choice between the lesser of two evils.

But you gotta love the “baby kissers”…they talk a lot of trash, blow a lot of smoke, show up in your face, spend tons of money for a job that pays 1/25th or 1/50th of what it costs to get the job…and the voters fall for it and elect them…and the politicians go and do their thing forgetting the voter overnight… And then on the next go-around the voters fall into line and fall for the nonsense all over again and re-elect them…
