Teaching Catholic girls to become good Muslims

The only way we can really know what was going on is to ask the school and the students themselves. All is mere speculation…we can see that some would rather jump to conclusions and cry scandal than to express their concerns to the school or to ask for more information.

This kind of discord among us IMHO is exactly what the display of these photos with such captions was intended to create.

If there is a sincere concern for the spiritual well-being of the students, there are many more charitable approaches to pursue the matter than publicizing these photos and allegations.

The pictures are intended to inform us, I can see nothing wrong with doing that.

Of course it is clearly a criticism of those who allow such things, but again as long as its done charitably I can see nothing wrong with that either.
 
Yes, the sensationalist approach that some media are taking seems to be somewhat abusive. If they had tackled the matter in a more level-headed manner, I think that most of us would be less distracted and more sympathetic and focused on any theological concerns that there might possibly be.

Ah, nice to see some people spitting in the face of the Vendee martyrs by congratulating this kind of rubbish.

So, we have to bow down and be taught by muslims how to prostrate ourselves? This is considered good learning? Should we light incense to Buddha while we’re at it? Or perhaps sacrifice some animals to Thor - I mean come on guys don’t be bigots, let’s learn from these false, man-made religions! Hey, lighting incense to Vishnu is okay because in Catholic Churches we use incense. Makes perfect sense!

A Mohammedan would sooner spit in my face than prostrate before Christ. But I am sure that’s okay with many people because we should let the Muslims be the best Muslims they can be! No need to, say, tell them the truth about Christ.
 
I don’t believe Schaik is suggesting any such methods he is suggesting they be taught some facts, facts you obviously don’t like. As to how the slaughter of cities and the sacking of Rome can be taught in a pleasent fashion, I confess I don’t know 🤷

This is in reply to those who are saying that it is somehow inappropriate for Christians to bow down and prostrate facing the direction of Jerusalem because the Temple that David (pbuh) bowed down to (refer to Psalm 138:2), no longer exists.

FYI, it is prophesied that in the end-times, the Kaaba in the city of Makkah will be destroyed… but Muslims will still be required to continue praying 5 X a day as usual facing the direction of the Kaaba because it by itself is not the object that we worship.

And so, the fact that Solomon’s Temple no longer exists is really no reason at all why Christians should not be bowing down and prostrating in the direction of Jerusalem since this is indeed a correct way to worship the Lord according to what is written in the Bible.

I also do not understand why Christians would want to bow down and prostrate to an altar since none of the disciples of Jesus Christ (pbuh) were reported to have done this after the event of his alleged crucifixion.

Christians do not consider Muhammad to be a prophet.

On a more general note, a lot of what is or is not acceptable will be down to the teachers explanation of what is being done and why and the pupils’ understanding of this so we cannot say whether what is happening is or is not acceptable. Eg In the UK there are 2 main aims of RE in schools{learning about religion and learning from religion I have in a lesson asked pupils to adopt tne positions of Muslim prayer one at a time and we have talked about how each position feels physically and what might be the interior disposition expressed by the position and what that might tell us about a mulims understanding of their faith we have then gone on to talk about christian prayer positions and their meaning and importance. I would have no problem about doing so in a mosque but I would not ask pupils to actually pray there. I suggest these photos are deliberately inflamatory, I also suggest condemnation of pupils prostrating themselves is also premature.

**Thank you for answering. I’ve never heard of Eucharist Adoration(prayers on Fridays/prayer style etc). I did engage in this topic to another catholic website and they have provided me with answers as to why the Catholic Church has changed so much in the past few years and the direction it is going. I trust in the Lord to guide the church and that she does not abandon the teachings of Christ. **
