When I took my first Eucharist, I was amazed to feel the physical bread becoming part of my physical body, the feeling of matter traveling down my system. I had the astounding knowledge that this was Christ’s own body, and then I realized why my flesh must be resurrected. It was physically, biologically unified with Christ’s flesh through the chemical processes of my body when Christ’s body and blood entered my body. And Christ is eternally alive!!! No part of him that is one with our flesh can fail to produce life, if we remain in him. And since He is part of our flesh, our flesh too will come to life.
That’s how I came to understand the resurrection of the body to work (and in fact become necessary) on a logical basis.
So I want to understand how Christians or non-Christians can be physically resurrected into eternal life without having ever physically partaken of the Eucharist. If Christ’s divine flesh never became one with their flesh, how can their flesh have life?
