I know this is reeaallllyyyy off topic, but I’m not sure how to start a new thread, and I would like to know if there are any teens here besides me that went to ICYC this past weekend.
hi neighbor! i am from the Philippines!Very well then, I’ll post it this weekend. Living in Malaysia as a Roman Catholic is a true challenge. For years, I was exposed to Islamic influence and only limited christian education, I wonder how did I manage it? Do anyone of you live in a multi-religion community?
Im studying in a Catholic School, but I have a Muslim teacher, I cannot understand her, she is really proud of her religion, she says that Catholics don’t have respect to the Holy Bible, but Muslims give a great honor to their Koran, and the only one who can hold it is their Imam.Very well then, I’ll post it this weekend. Yes, we need to have a strong faith to Jesus. I have very close friends who used to be Born-again, they invite me to their religion, they say to me that their way of worship is far from the Catholics. But I’m still holding in my faith, I respect their religion, but when they tell me false belief about our religion, I just explain it to them, and soon we understand each other. We all end up having a harmonious relationship with each other. Even both of them are Born-again and I’m the only one who use to be a Catholic, we enjoy each accompany.Living in a place where there are many different religions and people who want to influence you, is hard. We must remain rocks of faith against these people. Pray against their influence. Hold strong to Jesus. Look to His cross for strength.
Unfortunately, lay people cannot prevent anyone from receiving the Eucharist. Only a priest or Bishop can do that. I recommend that you talk to the parish priest where they are going and tell him your concerns. He is the only one that can make the decision. Also, you need to tell your friends. Bring them to the priest if you have to. I remember a certain passage in Scripture:You should not allow them to receive the Eucharist. They are committing a grave offense against God. The Eucharist is for Catholics, it is a gift God gives to believers. I will indeed pray for them as should we all. God Bless!
Meaning that, if you try to tell them, and they don’t listen, take it to a priest. If they still don’t listen, you can’t do anything, but the blame is not on you anymore.“If your brother sins, go and show him his fault in private; if he listens to you, you have won your brother. But if he doesn’t listen, take one or two more with you, that at the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established. If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church; and if he refuses to listen even to the church, let him be to you as a Gentile and a tax collector.”–Matthew 18:15-18

I know you probably didn’t mean it this way, but it’s very fortunate that lay EMsHC can’t deny people from receiving Communion. Imagine if lay people could pick and choose who could receive Our Lord. How many would take it upon themselves to judge who is or is not in the state of grace? Thankfully our priests know how to privately approach those who should not receive and also recognize that any parishioner could have had Confession directly before Mass.Unfortunately, lay people cannot prevent anyone from receiving the Eucharist.
Yeah, I realized, after it was too late and couldn’t change it, that I worded it wrong. Being an EMHC myself, I don’t feel it is appropriate, AT ALL, to get into people’s business. Like Jesus said, “Judge not, lest ye be judged.”I know you probably didn’t mean it this way, but it’s very fortunate that lay EMsHC can’t deny people from receiving Communion. end: hijack.
My first dream. It’s a difficult decision because of the fact that when we’re thinking about something a lot, when we sleep our consciousness closes and our subconscious awakens and it can surface what we’re currently dealing with in dreams. But, God can also use dreams to tell us things. So, the real question is, what do you feel? Do you feel that God did this as a sign or it was just a dream? If you want, you can tell us about your dream.
My dream started this way, I was in a mass, during the communion, I was ask to go in the altar, where the Blessed Sacrament is present. I was told to give communion to the people present during the Eucharistic Celebration. I can really hold the Consecrated bread and give communion to the people. I just can't understand why I am in the mass and giving communions. After the communion, I was asked again to go in the altar, someone is calling me and asking me to drink the water that I saw in the altar. I cannot recall in my dream, if I drank the water. (And Who is present in the altar, in the tabernacle?, as I can recall I'm the only present there.)
Then I woke up, hearing the lines "Through Him, with Him, and in Him...Our television id turned on and was tuned in a Sunday T.V mass.
I also have a dream that the religious sisters welcomed me in their congregation and my parents allow me to enter the convent.
According to my classmates, they dreamt that I was wearing a religious habit and saw me praying in church. (Sometimes,it is somewhat a weird thing, seeing me wearing those habit and praying makes me laugh when I heard those stories from them)
It is not a dream anymore, it is real I was awake those times, I was in the church with my classmates since it was our First Friday devotion. We are sitting in the side of the church, and we can see clearly the sacristy from our place. After praying the Holy Rosary, we just sat down, some of my classmates are talking to each other, I was sitting in the very side of the bench, I was looking in the sacristy and I stay silent. Suddenly a woman pass, wearing a white and blue, I cannot distinguish the face because of the distant, I asked my classmate if they saw the woman passed on the sacristy, they said that they don't saw it, as I analyze the habit that the woman is wearing it is somewhat the same with those nuns, but the earliest forms of their habit, looking like a nurse. But I just don't mind it, I just taught that it was a woman who serve in the church, After the mass, I asked my CL teacher, who used to be a lay minister during that time, I asked him if there is a woman wearing that habit in the sacristy, but he said to me that they don't saw any girl in the sacristy. :)
My first dream.

Actually before I have this dream, I am not still thinking to be religious sister, even though it occur just a month after my retreat, as I said in my vocation story, I just don’t mind idea of it, because I just thought that I was just carried away by my retreat, that I have those kinds of ideas.

It was followed by many dreams, the setting is always in the Church, during the mass, talking to a priest and saying to me, to just continue, the most mysterious dream I ever had, I cannot recall all the events in that dream. I just saw the different images or apparitions of the Blessed Virgin Mary in one place. In a place that, looks like a paradise, it was shining, with flowers, there are flowing waters, but I am the only person present there, and it is just the images of the Blessed Virgin Mary appearing one by one.
In reality, not on my dreams, when I visited the Adoration Chapel in the Parish beside my school, I realized that there are similarity in the place in my dream. They are nearly the same, the background. And it was my first time to visit the adoration chapel, maybe the second time, I cannot recall the place anymore, I was a child since I visited that place. But from that dream. I tried to visit everyday the blessed sacrament.
From those dreams, my curiosity about religious life arise.
"Indeed God speaks once,
Or twice, yet no one notices it.
"In a dream, a vision of the night,
When sound sleep falls on men,
While they slumber in their beds,
Then He opens the ears of men,
And seals their instruction, (Job 33:14-16)
God spoke, but then I do not notice it. I told to myself never mind those ideas.
-Having those dreams, doesn’t make me assume that this is really God’s will in my life. I’m still praying that I may discern my true vocation in life.
I firmly believe that God can and does speak to people in dreams. It sure seems to me that He is telling you something. I agree with Cloisters, keep a journal, pray and talk to others. My first dream.

They said that it was all-white Habit.
