If it was dead, it’s been resurrected, possibly with the intervention of Our Lady of Czestochowska. She has a Golden Rose, doesn’t She? (Capitalization implies royalty, not divinity!!)

Pax Christi!!

Talking about the polish children of Mary

Blessed Edward Klinik (23),** Francis Kesy** (22), **Jarogniew Wojciechowski **(20), Czesław Józwiak (22), and Edward Kaźmierski (23)

(though Blessed Francis Kesy was born in Germany, but the family moved to Poland),I came across the story of these Salesian Blessed martyres who were killed for their faith during World War 11 .It sort of reminded me of my dad who at 17years of age was forced to work in Germany as a slave labourer. He survived this ordeal and along with my German mother,he passed on his strong marian spirituality to me.Here is the link and story of these young lads—

St. Dymphna. Her mother died and her father wanted to marry her. She and her handmade fled to an island where her father found and killers her. She is an Irish saint. She is the patron saint of gentle illness.

Also St. Lucy, patron saint of eyesight.

I have problems with both.

The name Lucy is better known(Charlie Browns’play friend!) though I suspect that a lot would not know a lot of the life of St.Lucy.Here is the Link to her story.(p.s.it seems that you are attracted to the two women who both rejected the unwanted attractions of men to follow Christ The Divine Bridegroom!)

My husband bakes bread, he has picked as his patron saint, St Honorius (or Honore in French) catholic.org/saints/saint.php?saint_id=3794

My husband is not Catholic, but has been led to the Catholic faith through our long, though invalid marriage and has welcomed Mary and the saints. Which saint can I pray to to help me get officially back into the church, and not considered an outcast anymore?

Three cheers to all the hard working bakers of this world who bake us “our daily bread”!!:thumbsup:May St.Honorius ensure that the yeast helps your husband with an abundance of graces, as he asks the intercession of this saint, to Our Good God,through Jesus Christ( St. Honorius–a new one to me–thanks for posting us this one & the links as well!)

StMarianne Cope is considered a patron saint of “outsiders”.Her mentor **St.Damian of Moloki ** is another one(there are links to his story in this thread sometime back"

prezi.com/k-j7ykjspihq/saint-marianne-cope-patron-saint-of-outcasts/

Well Casida,I do not consider you or your husband as an outsider!! Jesus was a friend of tax collectors & sinners and by His standard —I am his best friend and a sinner through & through!! I deserve Hell, but through His Divine Mercy I hope for Heaven.

I know a good friend, who a long time ago married a divorced woman(no annullment),both are Catholics.About 10years ago this friend went to confession to a holy priest when on a weekend retreat. This priest told him that he could not forgive him his sins, if he remained “sleeping” in the same bed as his wife.He suggested to him that he could still share the same house with her(and her children–from the previous marriage) but they had to live as brother & sister. He told him to think & pray about his situation and he urged him for the good of his eternal salvation, to adopt this lifestyle. My friend did go back and made a good and holy confession with the resolve not to sin again.

His wife agreed with his decision when he came back from the retreat. She is in a state of denial to the sin of adultery, as she believed that her second marriage was valid, because the parish priest married them in a church and that a girlfriend(a religious sister–at that time) encouraged her to seek a new partner.( I only hope these two persons did all this in ignorance ,as they would be complicit in this sin)

I share this story, which my friend gave me the details of and he was well aware of his guilt, in marrying a divorced woman( “love”& passion can blind us all) . At the present moment my friend is dying on his death bed and his “sister”–" wife" visits him very often.I can assure you that he is at peace and I believe the gates of Heaven will be open for him when he finally meets his maker.

I do encourage you & your hushand to seek out the advice of a good pastoral priest with the possibility or chance of rectifying your present marriage.(if you have not already done so) I will certainly add my prayers to Sts.Honorius,Marianne & Damian that you are able to receive the grace of full union in The Sacrament of Marriage–God Willing.

I am devoted to Fr. Augustus Tolton but he is neither a blessed or a saint _yet".

He’s also pretty well know I suppose.

Thank you for introducing this holy woman’s "story"here(Sister Irmã Dulce Pontes, S.M.I.C).:thumbsup:The You Tube link is done in a very contemporary style, with the lyrics in the song that is very challenging indeed. The Blessed Sister’s life sure was guided by The Holy Spirit–she saw a need and responded to it With,Through & In Christ.

Casilda - God bless you and I agree with karoleck you are definitely not an outsider/outcast…Many of God’s chosen people were outcasts like Moses (from the Old Testament of the Bible) who was a former Egyptian Prince, Warrior, abandon and outcast by his “family”, wanderer, lawgiver, Leader, and Prophet.

St. Paul the Apostle (from the New Testament of the Bible) – Saul of Taurus was his name before his conversion – He abhorred and persecuted Christianity as heretics and he even assisted in the stoning of St. Stephen the Martyr. On his way to Damascus he was knocked off his horse and a beautiful light shone down from the Heavens and Our Lord Jesus asked him, “Saul, Saul why do you persecute me?” Paul become blinded and he didn’t take food nor drink for three full days. Our Lord Jesus sent another Disciple Ananias who restored his sight, filled him with the Holy Spirit, and Baptized him. Paul taught and spread Jesus’ message, teaching, and life far and wide.

St. Damien of Molokai and St. Marianne Cope helped many people who were outcasts – lepers. As a matter of fact, here is something rather touching that St. Damien of Molokai did for the lepers (* I know this may be “disgusting” to some people but this goes to show how much St. Damien of Molokai cared for everyone)
One of the most emotional moments of his trip to the leper colony was celebrating Mass at St. Philomena Church at the altar built by Fr. Damien.
It was so moving to me when I was there – that I was saying Mass where this saintly man said Mass,” said Fr. Russo, adding, “One very interesting thing I saw was all the holes in the floor. When Damien said Mass, the lepers, who were so sick, often had to spit and went outside to do this. Damien wanted to keep them in church, so he put holes in the floor and there were big leaves underneath that they could spit into. He was a handy guy and helped build a lot of buildings on other islands in Hawaii before coming to Molokai.”

Servant of God Dorothy Day is also a great candidate for Sainthood that you can turn too for help and for Prayer.

Blessed Peter ToRot who was a defender and Martyr for Marriage

Don’t forget The Holy Family of Nazareth - St. Joseph, Our Blessed Mother Mary, and Our Lord Jesus Christ

May God bless you and I am so thankful to God for rewarding us with His Holy men and women.

I would like to include another candidate for Sainthood who I am very fond of (and I apologize if he is mentioned on this thread) his name is Blessed Bartolomé Blanco Marquez

Blessed Bartolomé Blanco Marquez was born in Cordoba in 1914. He was arrested as a Catholic leader – he was the secretary of Catholic Action and a delegate to the Catholic Syndicates – on Aug. 18, 1936He was executed on Oct. 2, 1936, at age 21, while he cried out, “Long live Christ the King!”

Here is a Love Letter he wrote to his girlfriend Maruja
Provincial prison of Jaen, Oct. 1, 1936
My dearest Maruja:
Your memory will remain with me to the grave and, as long as the slightest throb stirs my heart, it will beat for love of you. God has deemed fit to sublimate these worldly affections, ennobling them when we love each other in him. Though in my final days, God is my light and what I long for, this does not mean that the recollection of the one dearest to me will not accompany me until the hour of my death.
I am assisted by many priests who – what a sweet comfort – pour out the treasures of grace into my soul, strengthening it. I look death in the eye and, believe my words, it does not daunt me or make me afraid.
My sentence before the court of mankind will be my soundest defense before God’s court; in their effort to revile me, they have ennobled me; in trying to sentence me, they have absolved me, and by attempting to lose me, they have saved me. Do you see what I mean? Why, of course! Because in killing me, they grant me true life and in condemning me for always upholding the highest ideals of religion, country and family, they swing open before me the doors of heaven.
My body will be buried in a grave in this cemetery of Jaen; while I am left with only a few hours before that definitive repose, allow me to ask but one thing of you: that in memory of the love we shared, which at this moment is enhanced, that you would take on as your primary objective the salvation of your soul. In that way, we will procure our reuniting in heaven for all eternity, where nothing will separate us.
Goodbye, until that moment, then, dearest Maruja! Do not forget that I am looking at you from heaven, and try to be a model Christian woman, since, in the end, worldly goods and delights are of no avail if we do not manage to save our souls.
My thoughts of gratitude to all your family and, for you, all my love, sublimated in the hours of death. Do not forget me, my Maruja, and let my memory always remind you there is a better life, and that attaining it should constitute our highest aspiration.
Be strong and make a new life; you are young and kind, and you will have God’s help, which I will implore upon you from his kingdom. Goodbye, until eternity, then, when we shall continue to love each other for life everlasting.

I wear a St. Hubert medal most days. On the same chain, I wear a St. Anne medal. St. Hubert is the patron of hunters, St. Anne is one of the patrons of farriers and horsemen. I wear the St. Hubert medal as I relate to the patronage, and the St. Anne medal as I’ve been in a really bad horse wreck and need all the patronage that I can get.

My daughter wears a St. Joan d’Arc medal, her Confirmation saint. I’m looking for a a St. Olaf medal, my son’s Confirmation saint. It occurs to me that both of my children independently chose fighting Medieval saints for their Confirmation saints, which is interesting.

St. Athanasius! I learned about him several years ago, and I’ve always remembered him!

"The death of the just: Death will reach everyone, the good and the bad; but the destiny of each one is quite different. The just man sees himself in this valley of tears as a prisoner, serving a very hard term. He considers himself a slave in this world, suffering an extremely distressing servitude. He regards himself a sailor caught in a horrible storm. And as death means an end of his confinement, an end of his slavery, and is the port of his salvation, he ceases not to cry with David, ‘Woe is me that my sojourning is prolonged!’ (Ps. 119:5)… He ceases not to ask with the Apostle’… Who shall deliver me from the body of this death? (Rom. 7:24)”
-The Golden Key to Heaven, by Saint Anthony Mary Claret

I have always loved Saint Veronica. It is my confirmation name as well as my Grandmother’s confirmation name, who was my confirmation sponsor. I’ve always loved her act of kindness during Christ’s passion. I recently tried to gather a bit more information about her and can’t find much. I’d love to know if anyone has any detailed information on her.

Thanks!

This story is about St. Veronica Giuliani and in an indirect way authenticates the person whose name she took, your Veronica— who wiped the bruised, sweaty & bleeding face of Christ, and the story that Tradition has passed onto us for nearly 2000 years.

Below is the link to the original St Veronica, that you took as your special saint to intercede for you, when you were confirmed with The Holy Spirit through the powers of ordained Bishop(or his representative).

Thanks for your posting and in one way she is “an unknown saint in the sense that we do not know her background------but we sure know of what she did!”👍

Thanks** goforgoal**,you do come up with great unknown(at least to me) holy persons. I enjoyed watching the life of Mother Maria Amada on the YouTube link. I was delighted that the sisters have kept the veil & religious habit ( as St. Pope John Paul once expressed in his address to religious this question —“Why are you taking Christ off the streets”—the use of secular dress). Thanks for this beautiful link.
