Question, do you think even after confession we’ll have to go to purgatory if we don’t have enough indulgences to take care of our temporal punishment owed?? After reading Sr. Faustina’s visions of purgatory I’m scared of even purgatory! This is from another answer i found on Catholic Answers
“The definition of indulgences presupposes that forgiveness has already taken place: “An indulgence is a remission before God of the temporal punishment due to sins whose guilt has already been forgiven” (Indulgentarium Doctrina 1, emphasis added). Indulgences in no way forgive sins. They deal only with punishments left after sins have been forgiven.”
So this makes it sound like you go to confession to get forgiven then you still have to do time in purgatory if you haven’t done enough indulgences. Or am I reading it wrong?
