Lord Jesus, be with all of those contemplating suicide. Help them overcome Satan’s power and help them remember that no matter how difficult their lives are, that their lives are great gifts from God and that all things are possible with God.
 
A Novena Prayer to the Sacred Heart of Jesus
Sacred Heart of Jesus, we know that there is but one thing impossible to You: to be without pity for those who are in suffering or distress. Look down on us, we beg of You and grant us the grace which we humbly and earnestly implore, through the Immaculate Heart of Your most sorrowful Mother to whom You confided us as her children, and whose prayers are all powerful with You. Amen.
 
Heavenly Father, please help those tempted to get past suicidal thoughts and learn to welcome life.

Grant others to recognise the signs of their despair and help them with love, wisdom and kindness. Please help their families and friends, and their counsellors, with all the graces to help them to recover from whatever troubles them. Help them to flourish in the gift of life You have given them.

Father, in the name of Jesus and for His sake please help those tempted to despair to know that they are uniquely loved children of God. Please surround them with Your light and love.

Mother Mary and their patron saints and angels please pray for them and their families.

You can see every movement of the human heart and you know what depths of despair, discouragement, frustration, loneliness, or self-hate have led them to the edge they are standing on.
Have mercy on them and open their eyes to see that the road has not ended. Fill their hearts with new hope. Place people in their lives who will love them with your own love, and who will give them a reason to live again. Make them know that they are worthwhile and needed.
And Lord, if you wish to use me as your instrument in touching someone, feel free to do so. Amen.
 
For all with this temptation. God is love and would love to bring blessing into the world through you.

Oh lord in whom mercy is endless and the treasury of compassion inexhaustable, look kindly upon us and increase thy mercy in us that in diificult moments we may not despair but with confidence submit ourselves to your holy will which is love and mercy itself.

Lord Jesus Christ, You have willed that St. Dymphna should be invoked by thousands of clients as the patroness of nervous and mental disease and have brought it about that her interest in these patients should be an inspiration to and an ideal of charity throughout the world. Grant that, through the prayers of this youthful martyr of purity, those who suffer from nervous and mental illness everywhere on earth may be helped and consoled. .

Be pleased to hear the prayers of St. Dymphna and of Your Blessed Mother. Give those whom I recommend the patience to bear with their affliction and resignation to do Your divine will. Give them the consolation they need and especially the cure they so much desire, if it be Your will. Through Christ, Our Lord. Amen.

Lord , allow those tempted to commit suicide the knowledge of your mercy and that nothing is so bad in life as to end it, and face separation from you and your loving heart. That in their moment of need they reach out for help and see that they are not alone, that you are always at their side through it all. And that in time with the proper help from your people they will recover from their distress and not be tempted to sin. We ask this in your name, Lord. Amen.
